I IL <br />Included in the 1952-53 budget. <br />RESOLUTION No. 1251 AUTHORIZING- AGREEMENT WITH STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT -Was offered by 0oun- <br />oilman Spillers, who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll <br />call. :Councilwoman Tinney noted absent. <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE PROHIBITING LEFT TURNS ONTO BAYSHORE AT CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS. City <br />Attorney Currie was directed to prepare the necessary ordinances on motion of Councilman <br />Jones, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />FUNDS FROX SALE OF STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM. Mayor Granger requested City Attorney Currie to <br />prepare an opinion regarding the ear -marking of the moneys received from sale of street <br />lights to the end that special fund be set up if possible. <br />LEFT TURNS BAYSHORE AT FRIENDLY ACRES. Councilman Britschgi called attention to the condi- <br />tions at Friendly Acres suggesting that something be done to alleviate the conditions <br />there. He suggested the.possibility bf the_City in conjunction with the County spend- <br />ing some money toward installation of a signal at 5th Avenue. Councilman Britschgi <br />moved that the matter be turned over to the Traffic Study Committee for study, seconded <br />by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />MINIATURE RAILRdAD COhM4UNITY PARK. City Attorney advised Mr. Layton desired to enter into <br />an agreement similar to the one covering last years operation., This is necessary in <br />order for him to secure the necessary insurance as required by the City. After discus- <br />sion as to possible revenue to the City, suggested improvement to the building construc- <br />ted by Mr. Layton, etc. Councilman Royer moved that the agreement be prepared along <br />the same lines as last year, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN ROYER MOVED ADJOURNMENT, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />5/12152 <br />RALPH S. DODGE <br />City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />Redwood City Council <br />May 19, 1952, 8:00 P.M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen: Carl A. Britschgi, Sidney D. Herkner, <br />Paul Jones, Wm. H. Royer, Christine Tinney, and Mayor Floyd D. Granger. Also present <br />were: City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney Cuthbert B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn <br />11, Jain, City Collector Paul E. Perrin, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Fire Chief <br />J. L. Lodi, Police Chief Stanley D. Wood, Water Superintendent Lisle Winter, Building <br />Inspector L. M. Duncan, Assistant Building Inspector Stephen Kreiss, and Assistant City <br />Engineer Art Eskelin. Councilman Robt V. Spillers and City Clerk Ralph S. Dodge noted <br />absent. Councilman Spillers asked that the minutes show his absence was due to a <br />temporary disability. <br />RESOLUTION'No. 1252 APPOINTING THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO ACT AS CITY CLERK Pro -tem in <br />the absence of the City Clerk, was introduced by Councilman Britschgi, and carried on <br />roll call. Councilman Spillers noted absent. <br />MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING were approved as mailed on motion of Councilman Britschgi, <br />seconded by Councilman Royer, and carried. <br />AWARD OF BID, STREET IMPROVEMENTS - CONNECTICUT & WASHINGTON AVENUE ADJACENT TO THE GOODWIN <br />AVENUE SCHOOL. The following bids were received for the above project: <br />M. J. King, Inc, $37;7.6.99 <br />
