<br />$1720, and in view of this that $2,000 minimum be asked inasmuch as Franklin Street

<br />LETTER - RESIDENTS 900 BLOCK ON TENTH AVENUE - FRIENDLY ACRES SIDEWALKS. This letter dated
<br />February 19th was read which had appeared in the Redwood City Tribune at an earlier date.
<br />A thirty day time limit was set to give the patching a fair trial and was up on Saturday,
<br />March 15th. Councilman Britschgi thought the Council should do something in the behalf
<br />of the residents on this block and suggested a committee of three Council members to call
<br />on the property owners. Mr. P. Sorensen, contractor for this project thought the resi-
<br />dents expected too much. Councilman Britschgi moved a committee of three be appointed
<br />to make courtesy calls on Tenth Avenue people, in order to, if possible, work out some-
<br />thing and report back to the Council, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried,
<br />Mayor Granger would consider members for this committee. Later in the meeting he
<br />appointed Council members Herkner, Chairman, Tinney and Jones to this committee.
<br />MR. 41. CONRAD APPEARED AIR) STATED THAT SOMETIME AGO HE HAD CALLED THIS SITUATION TO MR. JAINIS
<br />ATTENTION IN REGARD TO IMPROVEMENTS ON THE ALAMEDA FROM DE ANZA To EATON AND HE NOW
<br />PRESENTED A PETITION 'FOR THIS 11ITH 62%' OF SIGNATURES IN THE AREA. Mr. Jain had held
<br />two meetings with people in this section which Sir. Conrad had sponsored with but very
<br />few objectors to it. Lir. Jain, however, had not promised him that the work could be
<br />done this summer. Councilman Spillers moved that if they do have the 62% of signatures;
<br />that he be authorized to have plans and specifications prepared and create an assessment
<br />district, City Auditor to transfer funds to the project, to be reimbursed from the
<br />assessment district when actually spread, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried.
<br />MR. STANLEY OLSON PROTESTED KENSINGTON SgUARE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS, although this was not
<br />on the agenda. On April 8th an Article published in the Tribune indicating that all of
<br />this was referred back to the Real Estate Committe,
<br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi,
<br />and carried.
<br />BID OPENING - SALE OF USED MATERIAL - CITY SALVAGE. The
<br />following recommendations were made
<br />by the City Engineer, concurred in by the City Manager.

<br />bid was $30.00.
<br />The bid was accepted on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded'by Councilwoman Tinney
