28 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMEND DENIAL APPLICATION LEONARD REALTY7 CO, TO RESUBDIVIDE PORTION. OF. 10T , 11, BLOCX 11, <br />OAK KNOLL MANOR (Westgate Ave. 100 block). Councilman Rcyer.adv.ised the.pecple in the.area had pro- <br />tested because of'the belief that three small houses were to be built on the property. He stated fur- <br />ther that plans had been shown the protestants, and that if they still protested, the mat -ter would be <br />dropped. Company will appeal the Planning Commission decision only if the people in the area agree. <br />On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney, matter was held over to the meeting <br />of June 16. Motion carried. <br />PLANNING CCWESSION RECOT.0AEND,-,APFR01FAL APPLICATION D PARDINI RESUBDIVIDE LOTS.27 and 28, ROUSSEL SUBDIVISION, <br />(Central &: Carlos) :into 2 lots. Recommendation approved on motion of Cojncilvroman Tinney, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECO19END OFFICIAL PLAN LINES THROUGH BLOCK RGIt, WOODSIDE ACRES (Union, Palmli,raordon & <br />Woodside Road). Two hearings were held and several protests -were heard. Five -property owners ihdi- <br />cated approval. After discussion, Mayor Granger stated some division should be reached promptly, <br />citing the case of a Veteran's widow in the area who was denied a building permit until this plan line <br />matter is settled, statingthat it -was necessary for her to develop some kind of income property to <br />furnish her with a livelihood. Councilman Jones stated that he had attended the planning Commission <br />meeting and the matter had been heatedly discussed -by some of the 'property owners. He stated further <br />that in his opinion the people. did not understand that setting of plan lines was a protection to the <br />residents and would prevent building on future street sites. City Clerk was instructed to arrange <br />for a joint meeting with the Commission before setting date of public bearing on the above. Council- <br />man Royer so moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />PLANNING COMSSION RECOMMEND GRANTING PERMISSION TO REINHARD & CO TO MOVE CLOCK TO NFff LOCATION FRONT <br />STORE AT 2198 BROADW.AY. Councilman Jones moved that City Attorney prepare suitable franchise and or- <br />dinance, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney and carried. <br />IAND DEVELOPIMT CO REQUEST FOR ABANDONMENT OF EASEMENT, REDWOOD INDUSTRIAL NO. 2. Councilmanlioyer moved <br />that City Attorney prepare the necessary resolution subject to receipt of copy of letter from Pacific <br />Gas & Electric Co ccnsenting to the abandonment of the easement. Motion seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner, and carried. <br />SOUTH REDWOOD IMPROVDENT ASSOCIATION LETTER REHAZARDOUS CONDITIONS ALONG WOODSIDE ROAD as a result of <br />storm drains not covered with iron grates. City Engineer stated he had reported this condition <br />to the State Highwaytngineers who were not convinced grates were needed. Mayor Granger appointed <br />Councilwoman Tinney and Councilman Jones to look over the situation and report back to the Council. <br />PROGREES PAYMENTS, RELIEF SOMS CONTRACTS: <br />Unit 1. D A Parrish & Sons 12,647.70 <br />Councilman Herkner moved approval of payment, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Councilman <br />Britschgi requested that City Engineer check into open ditches, calling attention to a dangerous <br />condition at Hopkins and Elwood Streets. <br />PROGRESS PAMZNT,. S & Q CONSTRUCTION CO., FRANKLIN STREET. Councilman Britsoligi moved Progress Estimate <br />#4 amounting to $10,366.49 be paid, seconded by Councilman Herkner, and carried. <br />PRE71,11ff'L NARY BUDGET 1952-53 FISCAL YEAR. City lianager,Rolison presented pr&liminary budget to each <br />member of the City Council. Oouncilman Jones moved that study meetings be started as soon as <br />possible. After discussion Monday evening June 9th was decided upon for the first meeting.
