I_'__ <br />ABATEMENT PROCEEDINGS, HOUSE AND BARN AT 1228 SHASTA STREET.. Hearing has been duly and regularly continued 2 7 <br />to this date. Mayor Granger announced the hearing, and there wa4o one in the audience to protest. <br />Building Inspector Duncan and =ire Chief Lodi were duly sworn, after which Mr iluncan testified that <br />the building was illegally wired and had an unvented gas heater, In his opinion, house could be repaireo. <br />and made to conform if the proper amount of money were expended. The barn, however, constituted a fire <br />i <br />menace and he recommended same be razed. Fire Chief Lodi's testimony concurred and Councilman Spillers <br />offered RESOLUTION No. 1261 ORDERING THE HOUSE REPAIRED WITHIN 30 DAYS OR TO BE RAZED, AND ORDERING THE <br />BARN RAZED AS BEYOND REPAIR. He moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Jons and carried on roll call. <br />ABATEMENT PROCEEDINGS - 135 BUCKEYE STREET. This building is tied up in an estate. On motion of Council- <br />man Royer, seconded by Councilman Herkner, matter was put over to the first meeting(n July. Motion <br />carried. Agenda. <br />a <br />On motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman noyer, Water Department was. directed tglcheck <br />I, <br />to the end that water meter is removed in the above premises. Motion carried. <br />ANNEXATION PESSANO TERRITORY. Ordinance introduced on motion of Councilman Spillers, second@d by Councilman <br />Britschgi, and carried. City Attorney reported that all adjoining cities had consented to the annexa- <br />tion as required by law. <br />k <br />INTRODUCE ORDINANCE - REZONE LOTS 10 TO 20, BLOCK. 6, REXTOOD INDUSTRIAL NO. 2. Ordinance introduced on motion <br />i <br />of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney, and carried. <br />CITY ENGINEER REPORT ON PROPOSED ABANDONMENT -PORTION STEINBERGER STREET. Mr Jain reported that he had been <br />unable to get a satisfactory answer from the State Highway Department, inasmuch as the original plans for <br />i' <br />$ Bayshore Highway had been scrapped. Mr Currie stated he had discussed the matter briefly with Mr Marcus <br />i <br />of Frank Tanning Co and suggested that the Councilappoint a committee to meet with the Tannery people to <br />' come to some sort of an agreement. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Jones, City <br />J <br />! � Attorney's suggestion was approved, and Maycr•Granger appointed Councilman Herkner, Chairman, Councilman <br />Britschgi, CitfAttorney and City Enginer. Agenda. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COM19TTEE RECOMMEND 2 -HOUR PARKING BOTH SIDES OF EL CAMINO REAL FROM JEFFERSON AVENUE TO <br />�1 <br />fFIVE POINTS. On motion of Councilman Iloyer, seconded by Councilman Herkner, City Attorney will prepare the <br />f necessary ordinance to be submitted to the State Highway Dept for their approval. )dation carried. <br />i I <br />REPORT ON COMMITTEE MEETING WITH L C SMITH RE CONDITIONS IN THE TERRACE SHOPPING CENTER. Councilman Royer <br />reported that a meeting had been held with Mr Smith's representatives, Land Development Co, City En- <br />gineer, City Attorney,City Manager and City Inspectors. City Engineer reported that Mr Smith had agreed <br />to make certain corrections, the sidewalks, however were not included in the discussion. He stated fur- <br />ther that there may not be any r$sponsibility of the Contractor, and that it may be necessary for the <br />City to work out the sidewalk problem with the Land Development Co. <br />DAMAGE TO SMALL BOAT AT YACHT HARBOR CAUSED BY OLFSON SHIPPING COMPANY BOAT WHEN DOCKING AT THE LESLIE SALT CO. <br />Letter from the Oleson Go stated the small boats docked at the Yacht Harbor present a hazard to sea going <br />vessels entering the leaving the Leslie docks. They state the small boats extend quite a distance out <br />into the navigable part of the turning base. Councilman Royer moved that the matter be turned over the <br />the Port Commissioners for their recommendation. Motion seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED DENIAL APPLICATION OF UKE POPIK FOR RESUBDIVISION LOT 7; BLOCK 6, NEN HIGH <br />SCHOOL ACRES. (598 Avenue Del Ora). Recommendation approved on motion of Councilwoman Tinney, seconded <br />by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />
