46 - <br />Councilwoman Tinney moved that City -Clerk Dodge be authorized to accept deed from <br />Marie Gonsalves, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and -carried. <br />MAYOR GRANGER APPOINTED COUNCILMEN JONES AND ROYER TO CHECK INTO INSURANCE, RATES AND <br />REPORT BACK before Budget closing, particularly check into the reason for the rate <br />increase over last year. Auditor Brophy stated that only one bid was received on <br />Liability and Property Damage increasing premium by approximately 1800. <br />CLAIMS Nos. 8529 to 8625 inclusive in the amount of $ 43,127.27 were approved for payment <br />on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />RESOLUTION No. 1298 TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF 0 3,917..07 TO CLOSE OUT DEPARTMENT EXPENDI- <br />TURES AS OF June 30, 1952, was offered by Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Council- <br />woman Tinney and carried on roll call. Councilmen Royer and Spillers noted absent. <br />It was explained that the sum of $200 was included under City Attorney's Supplies <br />and Services to cover attorney fees for Mr. Wm Fitz Gibbons for services rendered <br />for codifying of ordinancesfor the month of June. This expenditure had been <br />authorized by the Council but no, money had been provided. <br />COUNCILWOMAN TINNEY MOVED ADJOURNMENT TO MONDAY, July 14th, seconded by Councilman Jones <br />and carried. <br />Adjournment 10:50 P.. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmembers: Carl A. Britschgi, Sidney D. <br />Herkner, Paul Jones, Wm H. Royer, Robt V. Spillers, Christine Tinney, Mayor Floyd D. <br />Granger, and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were: City Manager E. A. Rolis6n, <br />City Attorney C. B. Currie, Administrative Assistant Orrin Wendling, Police Chief <br />W. D. Wood, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, City Collector P. E. Perrin, Building <br />Inspector L. M. Duncan, Assistant Building Inspectors Stephen Kreiss and Berwin <br />Gyselbrecht, License Collector Daniel Licavoli, Civil Engineer Assistants Art Eskelin, <br />Gerhard Gehrels, and Assessor -Auditor J. J. Brophy. <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF July 7th were approved as mailed on motion of Councilman <br />Spillers, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT ON PROPOSED SALE OF LOTS 16, 19, and 26, Block 2, STAMBAUGH STREET <br />ADDITION. City Attorney Currie stated that in his opinion lots should be sold only <br />to the highest bidder. He also called attention to the fact that these lots would <br />be included in the Stambaugh Street Sewer Assessment and if they were not sold the <br />City would be liable for payment of assessment. <br />RESOLUTION No. 1299 WAS OFFERED AND MOVED FOR ADOPTION BY COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI that bid <br />on lots 16, i9, and 26, Block 2, Stambaugh Street Addition be awarded to Mr. Leo <br />Caf£erata, 536 Maple Street, who bid the sum of $1050, seconded by Councilman Spillers <br />and carried on roll call. Councilman Herkner advised the Real Estate Committee <br />concurred in the act of the Council. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF APPLICATION WOODSIDE NURSERIES RESUBDIVIDE LOT <br />15, VALOTA PARK (1572 Valota) to create a building site 90' x 130' on Valota Road, <br />on the SE corner of Lot 15.
