Brophy. <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ADJOURNED BTETING OF JULY loth were approved -as mailed on motion <br />of Coucilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />MR. WM. MC KEEGAN REAPPOINTED FOR A TERM ON THE LIBRARY BOARD WAS GIVEN THE OATH OF <br />ALLEGIANCE after which Mayor Granger thanked him for his past performance and as a <br />valuable member of this Board. <br />R. D. SIFFORD REQUEST TO REZONE AREA AT ALAMEDA and JEFFERSON, and., UPTON and JEFFERSON. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED AGAINST AFTER TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS.: Mr. Robt. J. <br />Delitergo representing the petitioner and other property owners appeared presenting <br />a petition containing 374 names of people in the area who were in favor of the <br />rezoning from R-1 to C -1-H. He stated that since the matter was first presented <br />to the Planning Commission plans had been revised. Mr. Dell'Ergo exhibited plans <br />of front elevations showing. the proposed business buildings for the area. Council - <br />man Britschgi moved that inasmuch as the plans had been chaged that matter be re- <br />ferred back to the Planning Commission for further study, hearing to be continued <br />to August 18th, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />FAY STREET BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT AND BID OPENING. Affidavits of posting, mailing, publica- <br />tion and affidavit of inviting bids were ordered filed. Mayor Granger announced this <br />was the time for the public hearing as called for in Resolution No. 1285. <br />Mr, John C. Steele, 453 -Roosevelt Avenue, presented petition representing 17 parcels <br />protesting construction of the proposed bridge stating that in their opinion the City <br />should stand the entire cost. City Engineer explained that the project was started <br />upon receipt of original petition, the estimated cost being given at $6,345 the City <br />to absorb 4$3,000 of the expense from 1944 Bond Monies. <br />Mr. Phillip L. Ohlemetz, 1181 Fay Street, also appeared stating he had not had an <br />opportunity to sign the original petition. After further discussion, Councilman Jones <br />moved that hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that protests be overruled, seconded by Councilman Jones and <br />carried on roll, all Council members voting "Aye". <br />RESOLUTION No. 1306 ORDERING THE WORK DONE, FAY STREET BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT, was offered for <br />introduction by Councilman Spillers, who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi and carried on roll call. <br />Bids were opened with the following results; <br />S & Q Construction Company 7,8kg-50 <br />Kevey Construction Company8,(7.00 <br />Peter Sorensen 9, 63.00 <br />Bids were referred to City Engineer for checking and report back later in the meeting. <br />It was announced that low bid was approximately.$1500 over City Engineer's estimate. <br />?"OAk AVENUE 'IMPROVEiENT A1M_B-Mz OPENING'.
