<br />JUNIPERO AVENUE IMPROVEMENT AND BID OPENING. Affidavits of posting, mailing, publication,
<br />and, affidavit of publication of notices inviting bids were ordered filed. Mayor
<br />Granger announced this was the time for the hearing.
<br />Mr. Edward Bustardo, 1703 Vera Avenue, protested the paving of Junipero from Vera Avenue
<br />to the creek, thus becoming a dead end street. He stated his estimated assessment of
<br />$992 was excessive.
<br />Mr. T. R. Ward, 1711 Vera Avenue, offered the same objections as the foregoing. Both
<br />of these parties were assured by the City Engineer that they would not be assessed for
<br />sewers if they already had sewer connections.
<br />Mr. Krebs, 282 Junipero, stated he was in favor of the project but thought his assess-
<br />ment was too high.
<br />Mr. Sharp, 261 Junipero, also appeared before the Council.
<br />The City Clerk read three written protests as follows:

<br />Edward and Mary Bustardo, 1703 Vera Avenue
<br />Miss Shirley Prodger, 720 Haight Street, San Francisco
<br />After further discussion as to purpose of building the street to the creek, it being
<br />explained that bridges in this area would eventually be installed and paving would be
<br />completed, Councilman Jones moved that protests be overruled, seconded by Councilman
<br />j Spillers and carried on roll, call, all Council members voting "Aye"*
<br />RESOLUTION No. 1308 ORDERING WORK DONE, JUNIPERO AVENUE IMPROVEMENT, was offered by Councilman
<br />Spillers, who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll call.
<br />Bids were opened with the following results, the Engineer's estimate being 50,633.42
<br />including the 15% for incidentals.

<br />OPENING OF BIDS, FRANKLIN STREET BONDS. Affidavit of publication of the notice of sale was

<br />Bid was received from Hanaford & Talbot offering 97% of face value, plus accruing
<br />interest at 6% interest rate. Miss Eleanor K. Maloney, 1032 Jefferson Avenue, bid at
<br />par, plus accruing interest at the rate of 2% per annum.

<br />MR. D. ANTONIO, EAGLE HILL TERRACE, APPEARED REGARDING PREVIOUS REQUEST FOR INCREASED WATER
<br />SUPPLY AND FIRE HYDRANT IN HIS AREA. He was advised that City Manager and City Engineer
<br />are checking into this matter, report to be made at the first meeting in August (4th).
<br />Mr. Rolison will furnish copy of this report to Mr. Antonio.
