1 <br />52 <br />SQUARE No. 3, and RUBY", OAK AND VIRGINIA. These jobs were delivered to the City <br />Engineer late Friday afternoon and too'late'for the agenda, however, in the interest <br />of time it was decided to proceed with the resolution of preliminary determination. <br />RESOLUTION No. 1311 OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION, KENSINGTON SQUARE No. 3, setting date <br />for hearing on August 4th was offered by Councilman Royer, who moved adoption, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call. <br />RESOLUTION No. 1312 OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION, RUBY, OAK, AND VIRGINIA AVENUE, setting <br />date of hearing on August 4th was offered by Councilman Spillers, seconded by Coun- <br />cilwoman Tinney, and carried on roll call. <br />A DELEGATION OF RESIDENTS FROM THE MIDDLEFIELD ROAD BEECH STREET AREA appeared to protest <br />the water which was being pumped from sewer project on Beech Street creating a health <br />hazard in the area. Mrs. Granger of 1424 Middlefield Road and Mrs. Leon, 1540 <br />Middlefield, appeared and complained of the water running past their homes creating <br />a health hazard. On motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney, <br />City Attorney was directed to contact the contractor in an effort to have this matter <br />corrected, a time limit to be set in his demand. Notion carried. <br />ADOPTION ORDINANCE REPEALING ALL SALARY ORDINANCES was placed on the agenda for August <br />4th meeting on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney and <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE INTRODUCED ESTABLISHING SALARY PLAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION recently <br />adopted by Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />ADOPTION OF 1952-53 BUDGET on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Spillers <br />and carried. Councilman Herkner stated he was voting for the adoption of budget but <br />was withholding his support on one item therein. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT ON ORDINANCE PROHIBITING OBSTRUCTION ON STORM DRAINS similar to <br />San Carlos ordinance was carried on agenda for meeting of August 4th on motion of <br />Councilman Royer, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />ABANDONMENT OF EASEMENT, REDWOOD TERRACE No. 4. Councilman Royer moved investigation of <br />this matter be made by the City Manager for a report back at the August 4th meeting, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. t <br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF TAYLOR PROPERTY. Committee report was <br />rendered by Councilman Herkner to the effect that they had gone into the matter quite <br />thoroughly, however, there were several matters that they felt th6 full Council should <br />decide, such as proposed industrial area, zoning, etc. The Planning Commission <br />originally favored annexation without regard to zoning. The committee recommended <br />that a meeting be hold to study the matter further, the entire Council. to attend with <br />a member of the Planning Commission. Councilman Spillers moved approval of recom- <br />mendation, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. City Attorney stated that Mr. <br />Taylor had submitted a proposed ordinance which he was of the opinion would cover <br />this situation as well as any other that might occur in the future. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE'S OPINION REGARDING ACQUISITION OF TAX DELINQUENT PROPERTIES. Request <br />of Real Estate Committee. City Clerk Dodge read City Attorney Currie's opinion <br />regarding PURCHASE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY advising that these properties were to be sold <br />by the County at a Tax Sale and if the City wanted to take over these properties, <br />action should be taken soon. Councilman Britschgi moved that the matter be referred <br />to the�Real Estate Committee for study and recommendation, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried. page} <br />(Turn 53A & 53B to next <br />S <br />
