<br />The. minutes..of, November. 7th..and..34th.were-approved .as...mailed..on-motion of...Councilman Royer,
<br />seconded. by..Councilman.Spille.rs and carried.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING, 1955-5.6 WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM. Affidavit of publication was ordered filed.
<br />There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Spillers moved public hearing be
<br />close, seconded by Counci.l'man Britschgi and carried. Councilman Hoyer offered RESOLUTION
<br />1949.ORDERING.CITY.ENGINEER..TO..ABATE.WEED NUISANCE,.FISCAL YEAR 1955-56 and moved its
<br />adoption,.. aec.onded by ..Councilmaa.S,tout . and. _carried on roll call.
<br />REPORT, CI.TY.AT.TORNEY, ON,ACQUISI.TION OF. RESERVOIR PROPERTY... City Attorney Currie stated that
<br />he has hard.-.correspondence..with the -people, and if the Council would like to acquire the
<br />property, .he requeated p.ermission.to have..a title ... search made., The reason he requested
<br />.the . title-s,ear..ch-was .that.. the.re .were_ a few matt.era_. which -should -be. cleared up regarding
<br />ownership. Councilman. Royer moved.that...the.City„Attorney.be. authorized to proceed with
<br />the title.. report,,., talk -to the- p.eople_and. report..back-at-the-next.Council-meeting, seconded
<br />by Councilman.Bri.tachgi and carried.
<br />FURTHER REPORT ON YROPOSED .BRANCH LIBRARY...Counci.lman Stout.repor.ted..that..the Library Board
<br />has mailed. a .letter..to...the. School..Board. in....regard ,ta. the- Branch Library, and the School
<br />Board has in,turn,..turned..the.letter over to the District Attorney for his opinion as to
<br />the basis on -which arrangements can be made for the proposed branch library: He asked
<br />that this be held in abeyance. and put on the agenda for one week.
<br />REPORT BY COUNCILMAN SPILLERS ON PROPOSED POLICE BUILDING. Councilman Spillers reported that
<br />the Committee, held_a.meeting on Thursday, November 17th,

<br />Submitted herewith ,is a report.from the Police_Building Committee
<br />regarding._the..possibility of. placing .the financ.ing,of this project
<br />before. the .voters at -the, April election.
<br />•
<br />There. have-been.several..methods of financing.,this project discussed
<br />by this. committee.-since..this, .issue..was. hef ora . the.. voters at the last
<br />city election. . However, we.feel.that,.to.finance...it..by.any other method
<br />without..the..approval,.of._ the. people...would not be proper.
<br />The following.fa.cts are.presented in..order that the public may be
<br />informed. of.. the. need ,for this facility.
<br />The Police Department is presentl,y,9ccupying.a building containing
<br />1583 square feet of space on the first.floor., 1112 square feet of space
<br />on the second floor and 510 square feet of space in the basement.
<br />This buildingwas not originally designed as a Police Department
<br />building and when first occupied, lacked a number of essential features.
