r, <br />434 <br />period within which to -reply, failure to hear may -result in rezoning the area to <br />as was originally recommended by the Planning Commission. <br />Councilman Granger moved that a letter be written to the President of the Southern <br />Pacific Company referring to the above correspondence and unless we hear from <br />them within fifteen days, rezoning proceedings will be started,.seconded by <br />Councilman Stout and carried.' <br />gITY MANAGER REPORT REGARDING UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Councilman Royer moved that the <br />City Manager mail a copy of his report to each of,the councilmen, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi and carried. Councilman Granger moved this matter be brought <br />up in the second meeting of October, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION, CAPTAIN W. B. DAVIDSON REQUEST FOR WATER CONNECTION ON CREST <br />DRIVE, EMERALD LAKE (LOTS 8, 9. AND 10, BLOCK 329 OAK KNOLL HEIGHTS). Clerk read <br />letter from Water Superintendent Gunter in which he reported that a pressure <br />reading had been made on Lot 8 for the period from September 2nd to September 8th <br />indicating a maximum of 82 and a minumum of.25 pounds per square inch. Upon <br />inquiry, .a neighbor in the near vicinity remarked that they were never without water, <br />but at times the pressure was low. Mr. Winter also stated in his letter that a <br />pressure test was also applied, for the same period of time, on the water main in <br />the vicinity of 432 Lakeview way. This was in compliance with.the wishes of Mr. <br />T.. R. Kusel, 432 Lakeview Way.9 who wrote a letter to Mr. Winter after reading in <br />the Tribune about Captain Davidson'.s request for water service. The test in this <br />area indicated a maximum of 28 and a minimum of 7 pounds per square inch. This <br />line is one of two lines serving Summit and Crest Drives. <br />The Clerk read the letter that Mr.-Kusel wpote to Mr. Winter and also the letter <br />i <br />that Mr. Winter wrote to Captain Davidson when he first applied for a water <br />connection. After discussion, Councilman Britschgi moved that the request be <br />denied, seconded by Councilman Royer. Councilman Royer reported that Mr. David <br />West, Oak Knol Drive, is going to circulate in this area, a petition for annex- <br />ation. Mayor pro -tem Tones suggested to Captain Davidson that he help Mr. West <br />circulate the petition. Motion carried'on roll call. <br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION, POPLAR-HESS-EBENER IMPROVEMENTS. City Engineer Jain reported <br />that he was away at the time last week when this came up, He explained the situation <br />in regard to extension of Lucerne and/or Geneva. Mr. Jain also explained that it <br />was impossible to change the plans and have them available for this evening's <br />meeting. He�further stated that because of a change in this law assessment district <br />will have to go through 1913 act. This means that the bonds will have to be sold <br />before the work begins. The matter was placed on the agenda for two weeks, <br />September 26th meeting. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, GAS TAX PROJECT #55, BROADWAY FROM CHARTER TO 500' BEYOND CHARTER <br />STREET. Councilman Britschgi stated that the bids were opened at the last Council <br />meeting and at the study meeting.it was decided to award the bid to the lowest <br />bidder. Councilman Britschgi so moved, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />The bid was awarded to William Bros. of Decoto, $9,493.75. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL TO REZONE AREA BOUNDED BY BRADFORD, MAPLE, <br />MARSHALL AND WALNUT, AND AREA EASTERLY OF MAPLE FOR A DEPTH OF 200 FEET FROM MARSHALL <br />i <br />OWN <br />
