r
7
171
435
AND EXTENDING NORTHERLY 402.8 FEET, FROM 0-2 AND C-370 P-2.DISTRICT. Councilman Royer
moved that the public hearing be set for October 3rd, seconded by Councilman Stout.
After the City Attorney explained P-2 District to Councilman.Granger, Councilman Granger
asked that maps showing the area be brought tothe meeting. Motion carried.
PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL APPLICATION OF E. L. TIEGEN TO RESUBDIVIDE PORTIONS
OF LOTS 9 AND 100 BLOCK 6, OAK KNOLL.MANOR (157 HILLVIEW), TO CHANGE LOT LINES. Council-
man Royer moved approval of the Planning Commission, seconded by Councilman Britschgi
and carried.
PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED RECONSIDERATION OF CANAVESE AND OTHER APPLICATIONS TO RESUB-
DIVIDE PORTIONS OF LOTS 14, 15 AND 16, OAKWOOD PARK. City Engineer Jain reported that
some time ago he had written a letter to the Council regarding this subdivision (August
1
8, 1955 meeting). He did not approve the Planning Commission recommendation as he felt
that the Canavese Subdivision should be treated in the same manner as other subdivisions
of this type, with the requirement for complete plans and specifications, and construction
of improvements as required by the Subdivision Ordinance. He stated the similarity in this
subdivision and those of Glenfair Subdivision, and he stated a f ew of the requirements.
demanded of Glenfair area. After further discussion, City Engineer Jain stated that he
had explained this to the Planning Commission, Councilman Britschgi then moved that
this be held up.for City Engineer's approval, seconded by Councilman Spillers, City
Engineer Jain explained that there were four requirements to b e met, water and sewer,
drainage, sidewalks and streets. Motion carried.
City engineer Jain stated that in order to properly handle this, it should be a legal
subdivision and follow the State law and City Ordinance .which.is any subdivision of 5 lots
or more would be required to file a subdivision map, put in a water and sewer line and
also put in streets and sidewalks. No plans are prepared for this area.as it how stands.
City Engineer Jain was requested to contact the people involed in regard to the Council's
decision.
COMMUNCIATION FROM THE P. G. & E. REQUESTING RECONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION FOR USE PERMIT
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SUB -STATION ON WOODSIDE ROAD. The P. G. & E. petitioned the
City Council for a reconsideration of said Company's application for a Use Permit for the
construction of a new 60/4KV sub -station on the west side of Woodside Road, 110 feet
south of Valota Road,
Mr. Duncan Reynard explained that the Council had suggested that they, the P. G. & E.,
try to find another location. He asked to have Mr. Scott Kay speak for the P. G. & E.
in regard to this suggestion. Mr. Kay stated that.an alternate site had been investigated
in the area where the sub -station was needed, Woodside Road, Valota and general vicinity.
If the P. G. & E. were able to use the property that Councilman Spillers had suggested,
it would be necessary to bring two 60 thousand circuits from a source south of Redwood
City or source north of Redwood City which would orignate on Alameda east of Woodside
Road. To bring the source to the sub -station it would be necessary to bring pole line to
Woodside Road, second pole line on other side of the street. If this can b e done then
in the opinion of the PG&E, this location is less desirable
the site could be used, but/location is the best site, Woodside Road opposite Alexander
and the original
Street.
This was followed by a long discussion and protests f romthe following people: Mr. Marvin
Fineberg, 1860 Anamor Street; Mr. 1"1. Olsen, 104 Nimitz Avenue; -Mr. Wilbur Robinson,
1880 Anamor Street; Mr. D. F. rreston 1840 Anamor Street; Mrs. Alice Rankine,
