PERSONAL APPEARANCE, MR. ARTHUR INMAN, representing the Lions Club. Mr. Inman stated that
the Lions -Club has made a study and search of a project to be conducted in Redwood City.
In their study they decided that the age group, 2 to 10 years old, have no regular
program. The Lions Club felt that a Children's Playground Development could be developed
in the City, that is, a Fairyland similar to the one in Oakland or the Pixie Woods in
Stockton. Mr. Inman discussed the plan further and he stated that Stulstaft Park was
found to be the most satisfactory as well as the, most natural setting. This had been
verified by Oakland's Landscape Architect. This followed by a Council discussion in
regard to the the area, the project and the revenue derived from Stockton and Oakland
play areas.
As per the Lions Club request, the Mayor appointed Councilmen Britschgi, Royer and
Granger to serve as a committee to meet with the committee of the Lions Club before
appointing a "steering committee". This Committee, with Councilman Britschgi as Chair-
man,, are to bring back their recommendations in regard to the proposed project and if
they find the project favorable they are to suggest who should be asked to serve on the
"steering committee°.
