Motion carried. <br />RECOMMENDATION AND SUGGESTION, CITY COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT HEADS. <br />Councilman Britschgi asked the City Manager to report on the windows in the Council Chambers. The City Manager <br />will report on this in two weeks. <br />Councilman Britschgi brought up the question of the death hazard at Fifth Avenue and Bayshore Highway..'He <br />spoke at some length on the possibility of installing .signals at this intersection. Councilmap Britschgi <br />moved to contact the State and the County Board of Supervisors to install the traffic lights and to have <br />storage lanes at Fifth Avenue and Bayshore Highway intersection, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Granger stated that the Highlands of Emerald Lake #4 was quoted as $4,412. He stated that the paper <br />quoted $6,639.00. ,Councilman Granger moved that the matter be referred to the City Engineer, seconded by <br />Councilman Royer and carried. <br />City Attorney Currie stated that the Council should meet next Monday night for five minutes to award bids on <br />.the Recreation building. Councilman Granger moved that the City Clerk be aughorized to call "the meeting <br />for this one subject only, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />.The Clerk asked about the matter of the 49er lease. City Attorney Currie stated that this could be <br />continued to the Monday night meeting and handled along with the awarding of the bid for the Recreation <br />building. <br />Claims No. 18897 to No. 19010, totaling $77,631.01, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Britschgi, <br />seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />City Engineer Jain reported that they were ready to advertise f6r bids on Parking Lot No. 4. Cbunpilman Granger <br />offered Resolution 2009 authorizing City Manager to call for bids on Parking Lot No. 4, seconded by <br />Councilman Jones and carried on roll call., <br />0 <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. DODGE <br />City Clerk <br />Minutes of the Regular Adjourned Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />April 91 1956 8:00 P.M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, William H. Royer, <br />Robert V. Spillers, Hiram S. Stout, Mayor Sidney D. Iierkner and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Councilman Paul <br />Jones was noted absent. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney C. Be Currie, Building <br />Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Assistant to City Manager L. A. Kimball and Acting Police Chief Theodore Moudakas. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, TRAINING BUILDING FOR COMMUNITY PARK. The following bids were received: <br />Fitzpatrick Building Company $20,394.00 <br />Penn Construction Company 20,436.00 <br />Roth Construction Company 21,363.00 <br />Jessup Company 21,942.00 <br />Lippe and Erickson Construction Company 22,932.00 <br />Stevenson Pacific 23,263.00 <br />Emil Magrin Construction Company, 26,838.00 <br />The City Manager recommended the low bid of Fitzpatrick Building Company in the amount of $20,392.00 <br />be accepted. He also suggested that it would be necessary to appropriate the above amount from the <br />Unallocated Capital Project Fund which will require a resolution by the City Council before the contract <br />is awarded. City Attorney Currie advised that the low bid of Fitzpatrick Company was in order after a <br />general discussion regarding the subcontractors as listed on the Fitzpatrick bid.
