0 <br />u <br />0 <br />The City Manager stated that the figure should be corrected 100' x 5001 and not 200, <br />x 5001. The figures in his report should be out in half. This was followed by discuss. <br />ion. Councilman Royer was of the opinion that there was seed and materials on hand and <br />the Park Department would supply labor only. Councilman Royer moved"that the City <br />Manager authorize the proper authorities to put in sprinklers and turf 100' x 250' area. <br />This was followed by discussion after which Councilman Royer changed his motion to read <br />that the area be .turfed and sprinkler system put in the 1001 x 2501 area with the <br />understanding that the Chestnut Street P]aygnwnd also be turfed, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi and carried. <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT ON ESTIMATE COST OF DEVELOPING MASTER PLAN FOR STULSAFT PARK. City <br />Manager Rolison stated that he had figures which he would like turned over to the <br />Committee for their decision. Councilman Jones moved that this be turned over to the <br />Committee for their recommendation. There wasn't any second to this motion. <br />After the Clerk read the letters from Rodney Strauss, Fred L. Hector and Larry Wise, <br />Councilman Britschgi moved that the Council Recreation Committee, The City Manager and <br />a Park and Recreation Commission Committee - meet and discuss this matter with the three <br />planners, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. The Council Recreation Committee <br />consists of Councilmen Spil]ers,Stout and Royer. <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCE, MR. BABCOCK, ASSOCIATED OIL -COMPANY AT THE CORNER OF EL CAMINO•AND <br />BROADWAY. Mr. Babcock stated that the station has been there approximately 35 years. <br />Now the Planning Commission wants the driveways cut down 25' and there is nothing to <br />be gained in the way of parking spaces b eing made available. City Engineer Jain stated <br />that this matter came before the Traffic Committee sometime in June, and he was of the <br />opinion that this should be referred back to the traffic Committee for consideration in <br />getting the driveway further back from the intersection. One ,additional parking space <br />could be provided on E1 Camino Real and it would provide three spaces on Broadway <br />instead of the one parking space. If there is any drastic change to be made, the matter <br />should be referred to the Traffic Fact Finding Committee for consideration. <br />After considerable discussion Councilman Royer moved that the driveway be .left as is on <br />E1 Camino Real and the Broadway driveway be referred back to the Traffic Fact Finding <br />Committee for further study, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCE, ROBERT 0. WILHELM, ATTORNEY FOR REDWOOD HOME AND SUPPLY COMPANY - Fire- <br />stone,Store, stated that his clients were asking permission to hold a liquidation sale. <br />The Redwood Home and Supply 'Company has been closed since September and his creditors <br />have forced him to sell the store. Mr. Wilhelm was of the opinion that a good deal of <br />the inventory stock could be sold in fiteen days since It was mostly Christmas items. <br />This was followed by discussion regarding possible outlets for the merchandise. Council- <br />man Royer stated council was of the opinion that they would not allow any of this type <br />of sale during Christmas Season. Councilman Britschgi stated that the Council has asked <br />the City Attorney to draw up an ordinance stopping this type of sale during the holiday <br />seasons. Councilman Britschgi moved that the request be denied, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger, <br />who stated <br />that this <br />store <br />could have <br />sold their wares <br />b efore and now <br />waited <br />until the <br />'Christmas <br />season to <br />hold <br />the sale. <br />This was followed <br />by discussion <br />after <br />which the motion .carried on roll call. <br />COUNCILMAN STOUT REPORT ON BRANCH LIBRARY. Councilman Stout reported that he talked to Mr. <br />Spinas and he had been informed that the school property can be leased to the City on <br />
