This was followed by discussion after which Mr. Field <br />answered Councilman Grangers question to the effect that the lots facing the circle <br />will not be rezoned, Those lots would be the dividing line and still keep the houses <br />facing on the circle strictly residential. Councilman Spillers moved that the public <br />hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. The Clerk read the letter from <br />the Planning Commission and the motion carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved acceptance of the Planning Commission's recommendation, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones. On the question, Councilman Granger asked if rest homes <br />would be allowed in the P-1 District. City Attorney Currie stated that they could be <br />allowed but only if the Planning Commission grants a Use Permit. Mr. Currie stated, <br />however, that in filing Deed of Restrictions, a "No Rest Home" condition could be <br />included thus protecting the home owners in the area. This condition was added to <br />the motion which carried on roll call. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE REGULATING FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS. Affidavit of <br />o <br />publication was ordered filed. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman <br />Spillers moved that public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and <br />carried. Councilman Royer offered ORDINANCE 810 PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF <br />FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS Arid moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and <br />carried on roll call. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONE NO. 29 WILLIAMS AND HILL <br />KNOWLES TERRITORY. Affidavit of publication was ordered filed. There being no protests, <br />written or oral, Councilman Royer moved close of public hearing, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi and carried. Councilman Spillers offered ORDINANCE 811 AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />N0. 623 RELATING TO FIRE ZONES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO PLACE ALL OF WILLIAMS <br />TERRITORY AND HILL KNOWLES TERRITORY NO. 2 IN FIRE ZONE 2 and moved its adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call. <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT ON COST OF INSTALLATION SPRINKLER SYSTEM AT SECOND AVENUE AND BAY ROAD. <br />The following is the City Manager's report: <br />Pursuant to the Council's request, the Park Department has prepared the <br />attached estimate for the installation of a sprinkler system for an area <br />200' x 5001, or 100,000 square feet, of City property fronting on Second <br />Avenue, between Broadway and Bay Road, adjacent"to the No. 3 Fire Station, <br />as follows: <br />Installation of Sprinkler System <br />Pipe and Fittings $p870.00 <br />Manual Labor •211.50 <br />Rental of Ditch Digger 150.50 <br />Installation of service and meter 325.00 <br />01,557.00 <br />Preparation of Ground and Seeding, <br />Lawn seed 247.50 " <br />Fertilizer 48.00 <br />Manual Labor 253,00 <br />548.50 <br />Total Cost of Sprinkler System and Seeding 2,105.50 <br />If only one-half of the above area, or 509000 square feet, is to be <br />cpmsodered. tje esto,ated cpst wpi;d be as follows: <br />Installation of Sprinkler System only 778.50 <br />Preparation of Ground and Seeding 274,25 <br />Total $1052.75 <br />
