This item appears in the 1955-56 budget, and the sum of $4,200 was provided to cover the estimated cost. Councilman Britschgi moved authorization of the City Manager to advertise for bids for the purchase of the above compressor, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. Ext. $2,800.00 Ext..$2,570.00 Total: $5x531.10 Water Superintendent Winter ecommended that the low bid of the United States Pipe Company, in the amount of $53410.80, be accepted. This was concurred in by the City Manager who noted that payment is to be made from Water Department Surplus. Councilman Herkner moved approval of the recommendations, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. REQUEST TRANSFER $$600 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO COVER COST OF SPRAYING CREEKS. Due to the fact that the cost of this work is"not chargeable to individual property frontage, it will be necessary that a transfer be made from the Unbudgeted Reserve for the payment of this account. Councilman Stout offered RESOLUTION 2029 TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR THE ABOVE and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call. Since this comes up every year, Councilman Granger moved that this approximate amount be set up in the budget next year, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. AUTHORIZE FUNDS FOR ACQUISITION OF RESERVOIR SITE. City Attorney reported that the Council had discussed this and the deed is in the hands of the Title Company and the moftey is needed, that is ;$23,000 plus title fee. Councilman Herkner moved authorization, money to come from the Water Fund which will be replaced with the bond money when the bonds are sold, seconded by Councilman Stout carried. AUTHORIZE EMPLOYMENT OUTSIDE ENGINEER TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECS CLINTON STREET BRIDGE, between Roosevelt and Oak Avenues. Because of the work—load and vacation season in the Engineering Department, the City Manager requested permission to hire an outside engineer to prepare the necessary plans and specifications, payment to be made from 1944 Bond Fund. Councilman Granger moved approval of hiring an outside engineer as requested by the City Manager, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. S. P. CO. COMMUNICATION REGARDING RUBBER GRADE CROSSING MATERIAL. In their letter, the Southern Pacific Company stated that in view of our interest in this installation they will develop all information possible on the present behavior and probably life of the crossing material so that they may discuss this type of crossing with the City. When they have received such information they shall arrange to contact the City on this subject. The Clerk was asked to acknowledge and file the communication. COMAUNICATION FROM MRS.
