1.4 <br />OAK KNOLL MAN OR, (31421 Oak Knoll Drive) subject to: <br />1. Extend rear lot line ten feet. <br />2. Deed 10 feet for widening. <br />The Deed for cidening was attached to the Planning Commission's recommendation. Council- <br />man Spillers moved approval of the Planning Commission's recommendation, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi and carried. Councilman Spillers moved authorization of the City <br />Clerk to accept the deed, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED TWO HOUR PARKING ZONE ON CLINTON STREET IN FRONT <br />OF THE REDWOOD CITY CLINIC, 2746 BROADWAY. It is the recommendation of the committee <br />that the existing two-hour parking zone on Broadway be extended to both sides of Clinton <br />Street, north of Broadway for a distance of approximately sixty feet. This was followed <br />by general discussion pro and con. Councilman Britschgi wasofthe opinion that this <br />might develop into a trap. Councilman Granger was of the opinion that parking meters <br />should be installed. Councilman Royer moved approval of the Traffic Fact Finding <br />Committee's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman Granger was of <br />the opinion that this should be sent back with the thought of putting in parking meters. <br />Councilman Britschgi stated that he was going to vote no because he did not approve the <br />idea. Motion carried on roll call with Councilman Britschgi voting NO. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the matter of parking meters for this area be referred to <br />the Traffic Fact Finding Committee, seconded by Councilman Royer. Motion carried on <br />roll call with Councilmen Britschgi and Stout voting NO. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT A RED ZONE BE ESTABLISHED ON THE NORTH SIDE <br />OF MAPLE STREET, WEST OF THE RAILROAD TRACKS FOR A DISTANCE OF SEVENTY-FIVE FEET. <br />Councilman Stout moved approval of the recommendation, seconded by Councilman Britschgi <br />and carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT A RED ZONE BE ESTABLISHED ON THE SOUTH SIDE <br />OF CHESTNUT STREET BETWEEN EL CAMINO REAL AND LATHROP STREET. Councilman Spillers <br />moved approval of the traffic committee's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Jones <br />and carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECONMENDED THAT A PASSENGER GOADING ZONE, 40' IN LENGTH, BE <br />ESTABLISHED ON MIDDLEFIELD ROAD IN FRONT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH. Councilman <br />Britschgi moved approval of the Traffic Committee's recommendation, seconded by Council- <br />man Spillers. Councilman Granger stated that he hoped they would "not be setting a <br />precedent in setting these white zones. Chief Faulstich stated that this church is <br />very active, meeting almost every day. This is avery bad intersection and the Police <br />Department hope this will help the situation. Motion carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED REMOVAL OF STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE NO. 1079 MAIN <br />STREET AND REROUTE OVER SPRUCE STREET, EL CAMINO REAL TO BAYSHORE HIGHWAY. THE Clerk <br />read the following letter: <br />"At the meeting of the City Council on October 31, 1955, I was requested <br />to contact the State Division of Highways to determine if the study of <br />�r <br />the Five Points Intersection had been made and also what assestance the <br />!City of Redwood City might expect from the state in the improvement of <br />. Spruce Street if Route 107 (Main Street) was moved to Spruce Street. <br />Attached, herewith, is Mr. Booker's reply, dated November 28, 1955• <br />This letter was discussed at the Traffic Fact Finding Committee meeting <br />on this date and it is recommended by the Committee that Route 107 be <br />moved from Main Street to Spruce Street. It is the thought of the <br />Committee not to -abandon Main Street as a State Highway until such <br />time as Spruce Street is extended to Broadwgy and accepted by the State. <br />The recommendation is made only to comply with the request in Mr. Bookerts <br />
