201 <br />crossings. This was included in the motion after which there was discussion in regard to a letter being <br />written to the Southern Pacific Company telling them that the City crossings. This was included in the <br />motion after which there was discussion in regard to a letter being written to the Southern Pacific <br />Company telling them that the City did not intend to pay for Jefferson Avenue and Maple gates since the <br />Southern Pacific removed gates some years ago. Councilman Stout requested the City Manager to hold the <br />' letter until he writes a letter to the Southern Pacific Company. Police Chief Faulstich stated that <br />original letter was from the Public Utilities Commission and not the Southern Pacific Company. The Public <br />Utilities Commission requested the list of priorities. This was followed by discussion. Councilman <br />Stout's motion was restated by the Mayor that the priority list be accepted, seconded by Councilman Weiss <br />and carried. <br />TRAFFIC C00.1ITTEE RECOMMENDED 20 MINUTE GREEN ZONE FOR A DISTANCE OF NINETY FEET IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION FROM <br />. BRADFORD STREET ON THE EAST SIDE OF PIARREN STREET, Arid a distance of seventy-four feet in an easterly <br />direction from Warren Street on the South aide of Bradford Street (new A. G•& E. BUILDING). Councilman <br />Spillers moved approval of the Traffic Committee's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />TRAFFIC CCVIITTEE RECOMMAEND THREE ADDITIONAL ONE HOUR METERS BE INSTALLED IN FRONT OF THE PLACES OF, BUSINESS <br />LOCATED AT 711-715 MAIN STREET. The location of these three meters would be on the south side of Main <br />Street, a distance of seventy feet east of the loading zone located in front of 715 Main Street. City <br />Attorney Currie stated that this should be subject to the approval of the Department of Public Works, <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Traffic Committee's recommendation subject to approval of the <br />Department of Public 4lorks, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />THE ASSOCIATED ENGINEERS, INCORPORATED, CONTRACTOR PUTTING IN THE 121' CAST IRON WATER MAIN, BROADWAY TOIAHIPPLE <br />AVENUE, REQUESTED AN.EXTENSIQN OF THE CONTRACT TIME on this project of an additional 15 working days. <br />' Water Superintendent Winter, stated that they did not start the job soon enough, hmvever, he believed they <br />were working along all right. at. the present time and he suggested that they not award the extension at <br />this time but wait until the job is finished. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Water Superintendents <br />recommendation, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried, Councilman Granger voting No. <br />Councilman Stout spoke on the subject of subdivision fees. He submitted the following figures securred from the <br />Building Inspector: <br />January <br />33 <br />single dwellings <br />February <br />67 <br />single dwellings <br />2 <br />duplexes <br />2 <br />apartments <br />March <br />9 <br />single dwellings <br />6 <br />duplexes <br />3 <br />apartments <br />April <br />9 <br />single dwellings <br />7 <br />duplexes <br />' May <br />8 <br />single dwellings <br />7 <br />duplexes <br />June 18th <br />108 <br />single dwellings <br />7 <br />apartments <br />The total units if figured at $100 <br />each would produce ¢32,533, if figured at 675.00 each the total would be <br />$24075• Therefore, Councilman Stout moved that any a nd all permits for single family dwelling, apartments, <br />multiple dwelling units or rentals <br />issured by the Building Inspector as of now be subject to any subdivis- <br />ion fee that may hereafter be adopted by <br />the City Council. City Attorney Currie stated that there is no <br />harm in this proposal, however, he <br />gestions the legality of the situation. Councilman Stout added to his <br />motion that they add if legal. This was <br />followed by discussion. Councilman Weiss seconded the motion. City <br />Attorney Currie stated that at no time did he give a legal opinion on the matter. Legally he questions <br />this. This was followed by discussion. <br />The motion lost on roll call vote with Councilmen Britschgi] <br />
