274 ° <br />Councilman Granger inquired as to the status of the Kentfield District. City Engineer Jain stated this this <br />was being handled by an outside firm and it had been turned back to them to make corrections. Council— <br />man Granger moved that these people be asked to carry out the corrections asked by the City Engineer, <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />a v + <br />Councilman Britschgi reported that the Police Station plans are just about ready. There is just one item <br />to be taken care of. The City Attorney was asked to prepare for the sale of bonds. Councilman Britschgi <br />moved that the City Attorney draw up the call for bids for the sale of bonds for the police Station, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Bouncilman Weiss reported that Assemblyman Dolwing will be in the City to discuss the State Highway problem. <br />The.Clerk was asked to check on the date and notify the Council. <br />Councilman Weiss moved that the City Attorney draw up the necessary resoution congratulating Mr. Currie <br />and Mr. Lebsack for their work as City Attorney for the past years service, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger and carried. <br />Claims numbering from 20183 through 20229, totaling $185,71198 were ordered paid on motion of Councilman <br />Herkner, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved that the meeting bw adjourned to September 11th, seetonded by Councilman Britschgi <br />and carried. M. <br />Invocation was lead by Reverend John J. Fast, Free Methodist Church, <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, Hiram S. <br />Stout, Louis Weiss, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi <br />and Robert V. Spillers were noted absent. Also present were City Attorney Robert Costello, Fire Chief <br />J. L. Lodi, Police Chief William Faulstich, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Assistant to City Manager <br />L. A. Kimball, Assessor—Auditor John J. Brophy and Account—Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, CONTINUTATION OF HEARING, RESUBDIVISION BERGANTON PROPERTY. Attorney Vdoodman.* Continued <br />from September lith. Councilman Granger reported for the Real Estate Committee. The Committee is now. <br />sure what recommendation they would like to make. They don't know whether they should take the <br />Planning Commission recommendation or not. Th6 overall line is an average of 8' which is being asked <br />by the Planning Commission. The Committee suggest that the people tell the Council what they want for <br />'the property and if this is what the Council wants then they can negotiate. If they can't agree to <br />something, and the City wants the property, then they may have to take the matter into the courts. <br />Attorney Woodman stated that he had checked with reliable real estate brokers and was told thet property <br />of similar size have been selling for $x1500. The value of the property would drop $$1,000 if the 10' <br />were taken away. They offered to sell the 10' strip to the City for' the $$1,000. This was followed <br />by discussion. City Attorney Costello recommended that the Council approve or disapprove the suggestion <br />of the Planning Commission. If the Council has some changes, they could recommend back to the Planning <br />Commission. This was followed by further discussion, part of which was on the subject of previous <br />Council action in regard to obtaining property for street purposes. <br />Councilman Stout moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Weiss.
