BROPHY AS CLERK PRO*TEM DURING THE ABSENCE OF THE CITY CLERK was offered by Councilman Spillers who moved its admption, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent. The Mayor asked Mr. Brophy to perform his first duty by writing a letter to We Dodge extending the Council's best wishes for a seedy recovery. PUBLIC HEARING, HIGHLANDS TERRITORY NO. 4 SEWER (Circle Road to Northerly City Limits) ASSESSMENT DISTRICT. The affidavit was ordered filed. The Clerk read the letter protesting the engineering and incidental costs of the sewage installation which was abcve the given estimate. City Engineer Jain explained the system for charging the engineering expenses. The smaller the job the higher the percentage of the engineering f cost. He gave a breakdown of the incidental expenses. Frazier who stated that the road was left in a, mess which should be corrected. The City Engineer qas asked to check this matter. There being no further protests,, written or.oral, Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2120 CONFIRMING ASSESSMENTS AND ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM FOR GHIHLANDS TERRITORY N0. 4 SEWER IMPROVEMENTS and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent. The Mayor explained to the people in the audience wby the Planning Commission recommendation to rezone a portion of Lot 19, Block 24, Sterling Highlands from an R-1 District to an R-4 District had been changed from its scheduled hearing tonight to October 22nd. Councilman Britechgi left the meeting at 8:25 P. Me The Mayor informed the Council that the emergency ordinance had been overlooked when the agenda was made up and he asked if they wanted to consider this tonight or hold it over for one week. Councilman Spillers moved that the matter be continueddfor:one week and a copy of the proposed ordinance be sent to each council member, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE REPORT ON BID OPENING ON SALE OF PROTION OF LOT 4.9 BLOCK 1, SUBDIVISION OF LOT 46 REESE SUBDIVISION. The Clerk read the recommendation of the Real Estate Committee. Councilman Spillers moved approval and acceptance of the Real Estate Committee's recommendation; seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. CITY ENGINEER .,REPORT ON FOOTHILL WATER PROBLEM. The City Engineer stated that he could not add anything more than he had stgted before. They were requested by the Council to check this matter during the winter months and report back to the Council at the first meeting in January, 1957. OF SAN CARLOS REPORT RELATIVE TO SAN WOOD GOLF RANGE. The Clerk read the letter wherein it stated that the Mayor of the City of San Carlos made a personal investigation of the complaints registered by the residents in the Redwood City area near the Golf Range and advised that such complaints were unfounded• Mr. Harold Bafsky was with Mayor Willims at the time the investigation was made and agreed to install additional netting which would be sufficient to alleviate any possible case for complaint* They do not feel that there is any hazard to children going to school inasmuch as the majority of the activity at the Range is during the evening hours. Councilman Stout was of the opinion that the investigation was in order, however, he did not believe the report was in line with the thinking of the people in the area. He believes that the addition of the netting vnsthe fence is going to help• He did not know if this had been done yet so he thought that the City should still check into this matter. The Mayor asked that someone from,the City check that this work is being done. Councilman Spillers stated that he checked and they had added some netting. The people stated that they have added some netting, however, the balls still come over the fence.
