0 Y <br />434. <br />by Councilman Stout. Councilman Herkner stated that it did not seem consistant to increase the speed <br />and install a stop to slow down the traffic. The Police Chief spoke on the subject and stated the <br />thinking of the Traffic Committee. The motion carried. <br />TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT ARTERIAL STOPS BE INSTALLED TO CONTROL THE MOVEMENT OF TRAFFIC AS FOLLOWS: <br />RED900D AVENUE <br />Ebener, Gordon and Junipero Streets be stopped at Redwood Avenue. <br />ROOSEVELT AVENUE <br />Adams, Johnson, King, Ruby, Crompton and Westwood be stopped at Roosevelt Avenue. <br />BREWSTER AVENUE <br />Fulton, Grand, Iris, Jeter, Lowell, Myrtle, Nevada and Hillview be stopped at Brewster Avenue <br />JEFFERSON AVENUE <br />Adams, Clinton, St. Francis, Quartz, Ruby, Sapphire, Lancaster, Oak Ridge Drive and Emerald Hill <br />Road be stopped at Jefferson Avenue. <br />JAMES AVENUE <br />Jeter, Sapphire and Topaz be stopped at James Avenue. <br />FARM HILL BOULEVARD <br />McGarvey, Glennan Way and the northern -most intersection'of Bradyrock Way be stopped at <br />Farm Hill Boulevard. <br />MC GARVEY <br />Northbound traffic on Farm Hill Boulevard be stopped at McGarvey. <br />GLENNAN WAY <br />Country Club Drive be stopped at Glennan Way, <br />WARREN STREET <br />Bradford Street be stopped at Warren Street. <br />HOPKINS AVENUE <br />Allerton Street be stopped at Hopkins Avenue. <br />ALLERTON STREET <br />Fuller Street be stopped at Allerton Street. <br />CHESTNUT STREET <br />Marshall Street be stopped at Chestnut Street. <br />9 <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the recommendation of the Traffic Committee, seconded by <br />Councilman Stout and carried. <br />INTRODUCE ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,000 FROM OFF STREET PARKING FUND FOR PARKING SURVEY, 2600 BLOCK OF <br />BROADWAY. Councilman Herkner stated that he received a copy of a letter from Mr. Spangler. This <br />letter stated that the merchants were considering underwriting a portion of the survey in the event the <br />parking district is not formed. Councilman Herkner moved that this matter be held up one week until <br />they get a further report from Mr. Spangler's committee, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />The City Manager reported that he had received a letter from the League of California Cities urging Council <br />support in favdr df one bill and disfavor of 7 bills appearing before the State Legislature. The <br />City Manager concurred with the reccmmendation'of the League. Councilman Granger moved that the City <br />Manager be authorized to send a telegram, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman Herkner wanted <br />to know what they were voting on. Mayor Royer read the letter after which the motion carried. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, DUMP TRUCK FOR PARK DEPARTMENT. The following bids were received: <br />Ferris Miles Dodge* V8 $22820.22 <br />Hoyt Pontiac GMC V8 49000.00 <br />The City Manager recommended the bid of Ferris Miles since the truck meets the specifications in all <br />respects. This was concurred in by the Park Superintendent. Funds for this purchase are available <br />in the Equipment Replacement Fund. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the recommendation of the <br />City Manager, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />The Mayor called a recess until such time as the attorneys returned. <br />Recess, 10:10 P.M. <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:33 P.M. <br />Leki <br />I <br />
