WHITEHEAD REQUEST CONSIDERATION OF PLANNING C0MMISSION CONDITION FOR APPROVING-WAYNE COURT MAP TO REZONE FROM R-2 TO R -l. The Clerk read Mr. Whitehead's letter. Building Inspector KFeiss stated that owing to the condition and the width of the property and�the length of the cul-de-sac the Planning Commission could not approve the R-2 zoning for this subdivision. Mr. Whitehead had agreed to build single family home at the time the sudivision was submitted to the Planning Commission, The City Attorney briefed the Council on previous action taken in regard to this subdivision. He further stated that the gentleman agreed on his own initiative to build single family dwellings. This was approved by the.Planning Commission and since that time Mr. Whitehead has been trying to chage the zoning of the property. Mr. Whitehead sopoke on the subject and stated that the rise in cost of building will not allow him to secure the kind of financing he needs to proceed. Councilman Weiss moved that this matter be taken under advisement at a study meeting, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. REAPPOINTMENT OF IRVING GOLD TO MEMBERSHIP ON THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION. Councilman Herkner moved to reappoint Irving Gold to the Park and Recreation Commission, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried., TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED FOUR WAY STOP, WARWICK -AND EDGEWOOD ROAD. Councilman Weymouth moved to refer this item to the City Attorney for proper action, seconded by Councilman -Spillers and carried. TRAFFIC COMMITTEE REGARDING REMOVAL OF STOP SIGN AT 'G( STREET INTERSECTION W ITH INDUSTRIAL WAY. The Committee finds that the stop sign on Industrial Way at 'G' Street breaks the flow of traffic sufficiently to allow the ingress and egress to and from this industrial area. The Committee recommenda that the stop sign be retained at its present location until the Bayshore Freeway is completed and a signal.is installed at the intersection of whipple Avenue and Industrial Way. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2215 AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO SIGN FOR AND ACCEPT SURPLUS FEDERAL PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS IMPOSED BY THE BEDERAL CIVIL DEFENSE ADMINISTRATION, THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, EDUCATION AND WELFARE,.THE CALIFCRNIA DISASTER OFFICE, AND THE SURPOLUS PROPERTY DIVISION OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call. Councilman Herkner reported on the PARKING SURVEY, 2600 BLOCK BROADWAY. He has been advised by Mr. Spangler that the property owners have raised $650 and they expect another $100'for a totAl of $750 to under- write the survey. Councilman Herkner moved that the City Manager be authorized to go ahead with the survey at a cost of $750, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. After some discussion, Councilman Stout moved to refer this matter to the City Engineer, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. R.!
