v the Cinnabar Committee he was taking exception to remarks appearing in Col. Weiss's paper in which they stated that the�Council had as interest in the Cinnabar mine and were selling stocks. Col. Weiss stated that this was not so. They said that they did not believe that the Council had any interest in the mine. This was followed be a heated discussion. Councilman Royer will attend the Planning Commission meeting of January 10th.• Mayor Herkner appointed Councilman Spillers to the Board of Review in regard the to Food Ordinance. DODGE City Clerk Minutes of the Regular Meeting Redwood City Council January 16, 1956 8:00 P. M. Devotional was lead by Reverend Rowland Edgeworth, Pastor of the First Baptist Church. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, Paul Jones', William H. Royer, Robert V. Spillers, Hiram S. Stout, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney C. B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Associate Civil Engineer Arthur U. Eskelin, Police Chief William Faulstich, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Police Captpin Theodore Moudakas'and Account -Clerk Vivian Holmquist. The minutes of January 3rd and January 9th, 19560 were ordered approved as mailed on motion of Councilman Royer, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. Councilman Stout stated that the minutes of January 9th did not show that the Council voted on the amendment to the motion concerning the proposed Kentfield Improvements. Motioncearried subject to change noted above. OPENING OF BIDS, $750,000 PARKING LOT BONDS. The following was the only bid received: For all but one part less than all of the $750,000 City of Redwood City Municipal Improvement Bonds, Series 55-13 Second Sale, offered pursuant to you official notice of sale, which notice is herewith made a part of this bid, all the bonds shall bear interest represented by coupons attached at the rate of 42,1 per annum from January 1, 1956 (in accordance with the notice of sale) to their respective dates of maturity. All of the bonds shall also bear interest represented by detachable coupons, at ' the rate of 1 3A% per annum from January 1, 1956 to January 1, 1958 inclusive. We will pay seven hundred fifty thousand and no/100 dollars ($750,000.00) which is the par value thereof, and in addition thereto a premium of ry110.00, plus accrued interest to the date of delivery. This bid is made for immediate acceptance, and with the understanding that the approving legal opinion of Attorneys, Messrs. Kirkbride, Wilson, Harp£eld & pt, Wallace, San Mateo, will be furnished without cost to the successful bidder. We are enclosing herewith a cashier's check in the amount of x$5,000.00 to be retained by you to apply to the purchase price if we are the successful bidder: otherwise to be prcmptJv returned to us if our bid is no accepted. Mr. Wilson stated that there has been a material change in the sale of bonds since the original sale of the previous 55-1 series. This opinion was based on present status of bonds recently sold in Berkeley and Fresno. He further stated that he had been warned that these bonds would probably go at 414 to Ltd, wrid the question is whether the City can conduct itself without the gale.
