<br />Councilman Stout spoke about reasons why the Planning Commission made their recommenda-
<br />tions for the changes as stated in the master land use plan. He was of the opinion that
<br />the Planning Commission should make an up to date plan giving the summary of the proposed
<br />changes and their reasons why the changes should be made. Councilman Granger stated that
<br />he was in favor of the statement made by Councilman Weiss even though he wasn.It sure of
<br />all the contents and he felt that this report should be made a part of the record and the
<br />Planning Commission could refer to the report at their study meeting. The Mayor asked
<br />that the Clerk see that the Planning Commission get all the facts stated by the Council.
<br />Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing be closed. Councilman Weiss, on a
<br />point of order, asked if it was correct to close the public hearing. The City Attorney
<br />stated that the public hearing could be closed. The motion was seconded by Councilman 1�
<br />Granger. In answer to a question raised by a member of the audience, the Mayor outlined
<br />the areas which the Council was going to ask the Planning Commission to check into and
<br />study, The motion carried.
<br />Councilman Spillers moved to refer this matter to the Planning Commission and all verbal
<br />statement and reports be referred to them and request that a report be brought back within
<br />sixty days, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried.
<br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING ON TWELVE AMENDMENTS TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 600. The Mayor
<br />announced that the Council was going to have to continue this matter for one week in
<br />order to complete their studies. Councilman Weiss moved that the public hearing be
<br />continued for one week, June 10th, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.

<br />Committee Recommendation - Existing sidewalk on Main and Lathrop Streets to be recon-

<br />Street to be constructed as soon as property is used for any purpose.
<br />Councilman Weymouth moved to accept the Committee's report and recommendation, seconded by
<br />Councils n Spillers. Councilman Herkaer asked if the Committee had checked the hazard on
<br />Chestnut Street side of Michel property. Councilman Stout stated that the property is not
<br />occupied by at least 50 percent coverage and unless they receive a different ruling from
<br />the City Attorney they would continue in the same manner. The motion carried.
<br />Councilman Granger offered ORDINANCE 860 AMENDING ARTICLE III, ORDINANCE NO. 758, BEING THE
<br />TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 68 PROVIDING
<br />FOR INSTALLATION OF YIELD RIGHT-OF-WAY SIGNS and moved its ado tion, seconded by Council-
<br />man Weiss and carried on roll call. The affidavit of pliblication was ordered filed.
<br />ADOPT ORDINANCE APPROVING ANNEXATION OF FARM HILLS ADDITION NO. 1. The affidavit of publication i
<br />was ordered filed. Councilman Weiss read the following prepared statemeht:
<br />"Last week this Council by a vote of 5 to 1 adopted Resolution 2244 authorizing
<br />agreement between the City of Redwood City and Oddstad Homes in connection with
<br />annexation of certain territory desigrn ted as Farm Hills Addition No. 1, the gist
<br />of which was to postpone the payment of the required $21,225 annexation fee
<br />applicable in connection with such annexation.
<br />I set forth my objections to said proposal and I still adhere to the same thinking,
<br />in fact I have some additional very pertinent reasons which should make us hesitate
<br />to go forward with such an agreement, and which reasons I will outline at this time.
