Councilman Stout complimented? <br />a <br />the Park and Recreation Commission for their £orsite and looking into the matter. He was all for this <br />program and he was of the opinion that the City Manager and City Attorney could draw up an agreement in <br />regard to this matter. <br />This was followed by discussion in regard to the proposed building which would have a room large enough so <br />that 35 men could dress, shower and rest room facilities and an office. Councilman Royer stated that the <br />1� <br />plans had been tied into the facilities that face on Madison Avenue. This was followed by discussion as to <br />what would be required in the way of the building and in the completion of the ball ground in the park. <br />Councilman Granger recommended that the Mayor appoint a committee to meet with the City Attorney or anybody <br />who might be affected and bring in a report next week, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. The <br />I Mayor appointed the following: <br />p " Council Recreation committee - Alyn Beals and Irving Gold, Park and Recreation Commission, <br />City Attorney Currie and Mr. Bud Stephenson, President of the Chamber of Commerce. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, PLANNING COMMISSION RECM1'IENDATION TO APPROVE REZONING OF CASSAURANG PROPERTY AT ARGUELLO AND <br />WHIPPLE. Affidavit of mailing was ordered filed. The Clerk read letters of protests from the following <br />people: Mrs. Stella Hinch, 211 Hcvrlard Street, Mrs. Henry Edmonds, 818 Whipple Avenue and Mr. Harry H. <br />Weiner. The Clerk also read a petition with 40 signatures protesting the rezoning. Attorney Dennis Woodman, <br />representing property owners in the area, objected to the rezoning and reviewed the history of what has <br />taken place in'regard to rezoning in the last five years. Mr. Woodman spoke at some length on the subject <br />of rezoning attempts on this property. <br />Mr: E. G. Jensen, 219 'All Street, representing the Camino Improvement Group, spoke against the rezoning. <br />Mr. Olaf Pearson, 1318 Arguello Street,'and Mrs. Rose Hanson, 1219 Arguello Street, spoke against the <br />rezoning. <br />Mr. Robert Dell Ergo, attorney for Cassaurang and Solari, spoke in favor of the rezoning and explained why <br />he thought the rezoning should be allowed. This was followed by discussion after which Councilman Jones <br />moved close of public hearing, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. Councilman Jones moved that <br />the planning Commission be overruled and the property not be rezoned commercial, seconded by Councilman Stout. <br />The motion carried with Councilman Spillers voting No. Councilman Granger explained he was voting yes <br />because the time wasn't right. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, PLANNING CO1lMISSION REC MIENDATION TO DENY REZONING OF THE SOLARI PROPERTY, NORTHWEST CORNER <br />ARGUELLO AND WHIPPLE. Affidavit of mailing was ordered filed. Mr. Dennis Woodman spoke in favor of the <br />Planning Commission recommendation. Mr. Dell Ergo stated that everything he said in defense of the Cass- <br />aurang rezoning applied in this case and he would not take the Council's time to reiterate. Councilman Royer <br />moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman Stout moved <br />approval of the planning Commission's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll <br />call. <br />14 <br />PUBLIC HEARING, ADOPT ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO SUBDIVISION OF LESS THAN FIVE LOTS. Affidavit of publication was <br />ordered filed. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Britschgi moved that the public hearing <br />be closed. Councilman Britschgi offered ORDINANCE 815 AMENDING SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO SUBDIVISION <br />OF LESS THAN FIVE LOTS and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ADOPT ORDINANCE REZONING LOTS ON EDGEWOOD ROAD, 1,7ELLESLEY PARK, FROM R-1 to P-1. Affidavit of <br />publication was ordered filed. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Britschgi moved that <br />the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Councilman Spillers offered <br />ORDINANCE 600.67 REZONING LOTS 1, 2 AND 3, BLOCK 1, LOTS 8 AND 9, BLOCK 23 AND LOT 20, BLOCK 2, SUBDIVISION <br />A, VdLLESLEY PARK, FROM R-1 TO P-1 and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. City Attorney <br />Currie stated that there was a Declaration of Restrictions which should be adopted by resolution after the <br />
