R <br />for the, sewer line, has caused unexpected delays.` Although it is ..still anticipated <br />that -the job can be completed by November 30 th, they asked for consideration of a <br />possible postponed completion date. Councilman Granger so moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi and carried. <br />Councilman Britschgi reported that the construction of the road at the Yacht Harbor is coming <br />along and he asked that the Council take a look at this to see if there is any changes <br />• to be made. <br />Mayor Herkner referred to the City Engineer the matter of the ratio of fill at the Yacht <br />Harbor. He was of the ppinion that it could be changed from 4 to 1 to 3 to 1. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the Matter of qualifications and specifications for an Assis- <br />tand ,City Manager be.turned over to the Personnel Board. This does not mean necessar- <br />ily that the City will hire an Assistant City Manager. Motion seconded by Councilman <br />Royer and carried. <br />Mayor Herkner requested prompt action orn the proposed sign ordinance, aldo that consideration <br />be given to the number and type of signs from -an esthetic standpoint. He called atten- <br />tion to the recent decision of the Wisconsin State Supreme Court upholding the right of <br />municipalities to exercise control over said type and number of signs. <br />c <br />Use Permits granted by the Planning Commission. <br />1. To Mr. Hinds, a use permit for a bar at 17 James Avenue. <br />2. To P. G. & E.', for loading dock at 1001 Arguello Street. <br />3. To A. G. Backlund, for two houses on two lots in a "U" District on Oak Knoll and <br />Hillcrest. <br />No. Council Action was taken on the above permits. <br />Councilman Britschgi stated that Councilman Granger's office will be located at Winslow and <br />Allerton Streets,. <br />Councilman Jones moved adjournment, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />Adjournment, 11:10 p.m.. <br />R. S.�E <br />City Clerk <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />December 5, 1955, 8:00 P.M. <br />Devotional was lead by Reverend W. Don Armstrong, Pastor Calvary Baptist Church, <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilman Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Paul Jones, William H. Royer, Robert V. Spillers, Hiram S. Stout, Mayor Sidney <br />D. Herkner, and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, -� <br />City Attorney C. B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Police Chief William Faulstich, <br />Police Sergeant Theodore Moudakas, Planning Commissioner Leonard Greenwold, Building <br />Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter; Assessor -Auditor J. J. Brophy <br />and Account -Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />The Mayor asked the Clerk to read correction to made on,page 7 of the November 28th minutes. <br />"Maryor Herkner requested prompt action on the proposed sign ordinance, also the consider- <br />ation be given to the number and type of signs from an esthetic standpoint. He called <br />attention to the recent decision of the•Wisconsin State Supreme Court upholding the <br />right of muniicpalities to exercise control over said type and number of signs." Council- <br />man Spillers moved approval of the minutes subject to the correction a s noted above, <br />seconded by Councilman Hoyer and carried. <br />
