14 <br />Councilman Royer moved introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600, the Zoning Ordinance$ to re- <br />zone certain herein described property from R-1 District to R-3 Districts seconded by Councilman Stehle and <br />carried. <br />Continuation of public hearing on Adams Street Culvert Improvement District. Mr. Edwards appeared before the Coun- <br />cil and asked several questions. It was explained that Councilman Fields would not be allowed to vote be- <br />cause he was not present at the time the first portion of the public hearing was held. One of the questions <br />asked was whether or not a survey of the area had been made as requested by the Council. Also whether or <br />not the assessment district could be enlarged; could the City stili contribute the $llj000 some odd dollars <br />and the people in the area be given the advantage of the saving on the lar bid. This was followed by dis- <br />cussion after which Councilman Rosselli moved to continue the public hearing for two weeks.. September 12th., <br />and the people in the area to form a committee to meet with the City Manager, seconded by Councilman Stehle <br />and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 977 FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON <br />THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF RE11WOOD CITY ASREVENUE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF SAID <br />CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1960-61, TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY FALLING DUE AND BECOMING PAYABLE <br />DURING THE SAID FISCAL YEAR TOGETHER WITH THE INTEREST THEREONs TO MAINTAIN THE PUBLIC LIBRARY L'k' SAID CITY <br />DURING THE FISCAL YEAR$ TO MAINTAIN THE WAR MEMORIAL VETERANS HALL BUILDING, TO PROTIDE FUNDS FOR THE RETIRE - <br />HENT PLA111, AND TO PROVIDE, FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS; AND FIXING AND LEVYING THE TAX RATE THEREFORE seconded <br />by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent. Publication <br />affidavit ordered filed. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 978 ACCEPTING THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 13522 OF THE PENAL <br />CODE RELATING TO TRAINING (F LAW ENFORCEMENTOFFICERS., seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried unanimously on <br />roll call; Councilman Granger being noted absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />RANNELS DISTINCTIVE APPAREL' REQUESTS TEUMISSION TO CONDUCT A CLOSE-OUT SALE AT 2380 BROAD9PAY. Mrs. Mildred <br />Cunningham is retiring from business because of ill health. A deposit of $100 has been paid. Councilman <br />Royer moved to grant the permit (MINUTE ORDER #60-188)s seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />DISCUSSION ON STREET STANDS FOR FUTURE EMERALD LAKE STREET IMPROVEMENTS in areas to be annexed and/or subdivided. <br />The reason for this discussion was so the Council'could give the Planning Commission some idea as to their <br />thinking on this matter. Planning Director Wilkinson -started the discussion by shoring slides of the dif- <br />ferent type streets to be considered.
