15
(3) ACCESS 3TRW — Hillside HILLSIDE
ACCESS STREET ,-
4 b° " • _7- B" 7-0" f3'_0'd6
This was followed by discussion on the problems of what kind of street should be put on,Altamont and
Piedmont Way. The majority of the lots in this area have 501 r/w for streets which creates the problem
because of the slope of the street where it meets the driveways. Mr. Wilkinson recommended that the
City start with the 34' street and work from the outside in to fit the areas and problems involved.
Councilman Royer was of the opinion that the Council stick to the standards set in the Glenwood Area,
34' street and no sidewalk. This was followed by discussion on the economical feasibility of a 34'
street.
A 20' street minimum would not allow parking on one side of the street. Councilman Royer asked Dick
Wilkinson to see if the Planning Commission would go for the establishing of a policy' of 34' street,
eliminating sidewalks and electroliers if the people did not want them. If they won't go for a 34'
street would they go for a 30' street.
Councilman Fields was of the opinion that any future annexation which is contigious to a standard
Redwood City street, and if it is feasible, that the territory to be annexed be required to put in the
.same type of width street.
Councilman Royer moved that this matter be referred to the Planning Commission for their study and
' recommendation, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.
G. A. Ballon, 462 Upland Road, stated that his area was interested in annexing to the City but all
they wanted was sewers. They have submitted their petition for annexation. This was followed by
discussion.
Councilman Fields moved that the meeting be adjourned to September 12th, seconded by Councilman Herkner and
carried. Meeting adjourned, 9:19 p. m.
Vivian Rifbjerg, Deputy City Clerk
Minutes of the Regular Meeting
Redwood City Council
September 12, 1960, 8:00 P.M.
Invocation was led
 by City Clerk Moore.
ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present; Councilmen Ron W.
