31 <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3228 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATERPROOF- <br />ING TKO 4 -MILLION GALLON <br />CONCRETE WATER TANKS AT SEQUOIA RESERVOIRS; AND, AUTHORIZING CALL <br />FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried on roll call with Councilmen Fields, <br />Herkner, Rosselli, Royer, Stehle and Mayor Weymouth voting yes and Councilman Granger voting no. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF IMPROVEMENTS, BARBOUR TRACT. Acceptance of improvements on Barbour Tract are recommended by <br />the City Engineer subject to the following: ' <br />(1) One year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. <br />(2) Payment of all monies for engineering and inspection awing the City. <br />Improvements in this tract have been completed with the exception of tree planting and certain side- <br />walk repairs. A deposit of $350 has been received to guarantee completion of the tree planting and <br />sidewalk repair. <br />Councilman Fields moved to accept the improvements subject to the above c6nditions and the one year <br />guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials (MINUTE ORDER #60-210), seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. <br />RECOMUNDATION OF CITY ENGINEER THAT E. T. HAAS COMPANY BE GRANTED AN <br />45 WORKING DAYS EXTENSION <br />from September 2, 1960, on the Bayshore Industrial Park No. 1 to cover ddlaya beyond the contractor's <br />control. Extension has the written approval of the Bonding Company. Councilman Granger moved to <br />grant the extension as requested (MINUTE ORDER #60-211), seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />Councilman Royer moved that the City Auditor be authorized to pay monies owing Be T. Haas Company <br />except for a $3,000 retention, subject to the signing of an agreement with E. T. Haas Companys to be <br />approved by the project attorney, Co W. lebsack, and the City Manager (MINUTE ORDER #60-212), seconded <br />by Councilman Stehle and carried. . <br />' Councilman Rosselli reported on the sign ordinance. The Committee reviewed Palo Alto and Menlo Park ord- <br />inances and were of the opinion that if the proposed sign ordinance of the City were adopted we woalid:$ <br />have a far better ordinance than either Menlo Park or Palo Alto. They have agreed on the signs and <br />height of signs and have directed the City Attorney to redraft the whole ordinance and submit same to <br />the Committee who in turn will meet with the Chamber of Commerce and the Council. Councilman Royer <br />moved to accept the report of the Sign Committee and continued the matter for 30 days (MINUTE ORDER <br />#60-213), seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. (November 21, 1960) <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, POLICE CAR& The following bids were received: <br />Bray Motor Company - 1960 Oldsmobile 88 $2,982.88, Net cost <br />Davies Auto Company - 1961 Chevrolet Biscayne $2,502.90 Net cost <br />The sum of $1,000 was included in this year's Police Department budget and the bales nce is available <br />in the Equipment Replacement Fund for this purpose. Since the bid of Davies Auto Company does not <br />meet the minimum advertised specifications, it is recommended that the bid of Bray Motor Company be <br />accepted and that a 1960 Oldsmobile 88 be purchased at a total net cost of $2,982.88. Councilman <br />Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3329 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />OF NE9 AUTOMOBILE; AND <br />REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, FIRE CHIFFIS CAR. The follcwi.ng bids were received: <br />I <br />I Leonard Ely Motor Company, Chrysler Newport, 4 door'sedan Net Cost $2,659.45 <br />Ferris Miles Company, Dodge Polora, 4 door sedan Net Cost $22755.41 <br />Three bids were received on specifications submitted for the Fire Chief's car. This bid includes the <br />trade-in of a 1955 Dodge. One bid.submitted by Davies Auto Company, was rejected because it failed to <br />meet specifications. It is recommended that the low bid of Leonard Ely Motor Company on the Chrysler <br />Newport be accepted for the Fire Department. Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3230 <br />AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING OF NEW AUTOMCBILE; AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED, seconded <br />
