Minutes of the Regular Meeting 37 <br />Redwood City Council <br />November 7s 1960s 8:00 P.M. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend H. George Vorsheim, Valley United Presbyterian Church. <br />r <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, <br />William H. Royer, Harold C. Stehle, Mayor Ray A. Weymouth and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilman <br />John S. Rosselli was noted absent. Also noted present were City Manager J. E. Neal, City Attorney <br />Robert J. Costello, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Planning Director <br />Dick Wilkinson, Police Chief William Faulstich, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Water Superintendent <br />H. L. Winter, Traffic Engineer Arthur Eskelin, Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittel, Fire Chief <br />J. L. Lodi, and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Rifbjerg. <br />Councilman Royer moved to approve the minutes of Octcber 31, 1960s, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Fields <br />and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON ODDSTAD ANNEXATION NO. 1'(5-01 acres of City owned property adjacent to Stulsaft Park). <br />The public hearing was declared open and the affidavits of publication and notice; affidavit of assessed <br />valuation, affidavit that fewer than owners of one-half of the value of the territory have protested <br />have protested were ordered filed. There were no protests, written or oral. Councilman Royer moved <br />that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3240 BEING A RESOLUTION CF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RWVOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ODDSTAD ANNEXATION N0. 111 HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY <br />OWNERS CF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL, NCR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID <br />TER-RITORY <br />11 <br />AS DETERMINED BY SAID CQJNCIL, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried unanimously on roll . <br />call, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />Councilman Herkner moved introduction of an ordinance of the City of Redwood City approving the anhexa- <br />tion to the City of Redwood City of certain uninhabited territory designated "Oddstad Annexation No. 111 <br />and herein described, and herein annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City, seconded by Cpdn- <br />oilman Stehle and c= -Tied. . <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON WICKETT ANNEXATION (13.958 acres, being a portion of Lot lt, Subdivision of Sweeney Ranch <br />at Second, Bay Road and Fifth Avenue near Spring Street). The public hearing was declared open and the <br />affidavits of publication and notice; affidavit of assessed valuation; affidavit that fewer than owners <br />of one-half of the value of the territory have protested were ordered filed. The Clerk read a letter <br />from Frahm, Maykel & Edler, representing the WickettMackenzie property, wherein they stated that they <br />had deposited a check in the amount of $1,000, covering annexation fee and publication costs. Mr. <br />Carlisle, representing three property owners, stated that his clients want the present zoning of light <br />industrial. The City Attorney informed the people in the audience that the Council was not and could <br />not consider zoning at this time. Councilman Royer moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded <br />i <br />by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />! <br />Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3241 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS 11WIC1=T ANNEXATION° HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY OMMS OF ONE- <br />HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHO11N BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT <br />ROLL, NOR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE -NAF OF THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AS <br />DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried unanimously on roll call, Coun- <br />cilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />
