36 <br />Request of Captain C. S. Driswold for adoption of Veteran's Day resolution. Councilman 'Royer moved adoption of <br />RESOZUTION NO. 3236 COMMEMORATING CELEBRATION OF VETERANS DAY, seconded by"Councilman Herkner and carried <br />unanimously on roll call. A copy of the resolution is to be delivered to the Tribune. <br />Councilman Herlmer moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3237 REPEALING RESOLUTION N0, 3231, CONCERNING SUPPLEMENTAL <br />AGREEMENT WITH STATE OF CALIFORNIA (MAJOR CITY STREET PROJECT N0. 83), seconded by Councilman Fields and <br />carried una#imously on roll calls <br />isolation of public interest and convenience authorizing acquisition of parcels necessary for Jefferson Avenue <br />widening between Franklin and Adams Streets. This is preparatory to acquiring property needed for widening <br />Jefferson Avenue. Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3238 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL <br />CF THE CITY OF RED11100D CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE AC— <br />QUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY CF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, NAMELY A PUBLIC STREET, IN <br />AND UPON THAT CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY HEREIN DESCRIBED; THAT THE ACQUISITION OF A RIGHT OF WAY AND -EASEMENTS <br />IN SAID REAL PROPERTY HEREIN DESCRIBED IS NECESSARY FOR SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />TO BRING AN ACTION IN EMINENT DOMAIN TO ACQUIRE SAID REAL PROPERTY FOR SAID PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT AND TO APPLY' <br />FOR AN ORDER OF IMMEDIATE POSSESSION OF SAID REAL PROPERTY; AND, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO DEPOSIT MONEY IN COURT FOR IMMEDIATE POSSESSION OF SAID REAL PROPERTY, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and <br />carried unanimously on roll cal Is <br />Councilman Stehle moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3239 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS FOR <br />RIGHT OF WAY APPRAISAL AND ACQUISITION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF JEFFERSON AVENUE BETWEEN ADAMS STREET AND <br />FRANKLIN STREET, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF BROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS, SECOND AVENUE TO CHARTER STREET, GAS TAX PROJECT NO. 80. This project has <br />been satisfactorily completed by Bragato Paving Company as Gas Tax Project 80. The City Engineer recommended <br />acceptance of• this project by the City Council, subject to•guaranteb against defects in materials and work— <br />manship which might appear within -one year from date of acceptance: Councilman Yields moved to accept the <br />improvements subject to the conditions stated aboves (MINUTE ORDER #64-223)s seconded by Councilman Rosselli <br />and carried. <br />Chamber of Commerce letter stated that they had gone on record opposing Proposition No. 15, reapportionment <br />amendment to the California Constitution. <br />Letter of resignation from Ray Lunny from the Park and Recreation Commission. Councilman Rosselli moved to accept <br />the letter of resignation and a letter be written thanking him for his services while he was on the Comnissicn <br />(MINUTE ORDER #60-224)', seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Sonoma re—affirming its opposition to the proposed re— <br />apportionment of -the State Senate as set f orth in Proposition No. 15r <br />Junior Native Daughters invited the Council to their public installation to be held Thursday, November 10th, at <br />7:30 p. me in the Veterans Memorial Building, <br />Councilman Royer moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Colincilman Fields and carried.
