(b) Daily Searches. Except for Holidays, Contractor shall provide searches of the <br /> Service Area for Abandoned Shopping Carts, 7 days per week, 8 hours per day <br /> (approximately between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.). <br /> <br />(c)Tac~(~inc~ - Non-participating Owners and Unidentified Shopping Carts. Contractor <br /> shall affix to Abandoned Shopping Carts identified as belonging to non-Participating <br /> Owners a tag specifying the name of the non-Participating Owner and the date and <br /> time of delivery of the Abandoned Shopping Cart to the Center. Shopping Carts <br /> bearing no identification of ownership shall be tagged, but with the notation "Owner <br /> Unknown" or words to that effect. Tags shall be enclosed in a transparent <br /> weatherproof enclosure and affixed to the handle of the Shopping Cart. <br /> <br />(d)Receipt - Participatin.q Owners. Contractor shall obtain a receipt, signed for, or on <br /> behalf of, a Participating Owner, listing the number of carts delivered to the <br /> Participating Owner and the date of delivery. <br /> <br />(e)Logs. Contractor shall keep current and accurate logs recording the delivery of <br /> Abandoned Shopping Carts to Participating Owners and to the Center. <br /> <br />(f) Production Summaries. Contractor shall, using the information contained in the logs, <br /> prepare and maintain production summaries on a weekly and monthly basis, which <br /> shall include the number of Shopping Carts retrieved from searches, the number of <br /> carts retrieved in response to requests, the total number of Carts per day per <br /> summary period, and the total amount of compensation claimed by Contractor based <br /> on the number of Shopping Carts retrieved per day, per week, and per month for <br /> each reporting period. <br /> <br />(g) Requested Retrievals. Contractor shall respond to requests for retrieval of <br /> Abandoned Shopping Carts made by persons residing or working within the Service <br /> Area by telephone, electronic mail Ce-mail"), facsimile, or by other electronic means, <br /> or by mail, within twenty-four hours of receipt of said requests, excluding Holidays. <br /> Delivery of Shopping Carts retrieved upon request shall correspond to the <br /> procedures described in (c) and (d), above, as applicable. <br /> <br />(h)Sanitation. Contractor shall dispose of all refuse or other solid wastes and discarded <br /> items on or within Abandoned Shopping Carts in solid waste receptacles at the <br /> Center; provided, that hazardous waste shall be delivered to governmentally <br /> approved hazardous waste disposal sites. Contractor shall place such waste in <br /> appropriate bags to be provided by the City or other receptacles upon retrieving the <br /> Shopping Cart containing the waste. <br /> <br />(i) Notice to Non-Participating Owner. Contractor shall provide notice to Non- <br /> Participating Owners within twenty-four hours of retrieving their Abandoned <br /> Shopping Carts of their opportunity to reclaim the Abandoned Shopping Carts at the <br /> Center free of charge within three (3) business days following such notice, or, for <br /> Shopping Carts claimed after three business days but not more than thirty (30) days <br /> <br /> 4 <br />Agmt-321 <br />DES:rg <br />F/shared/shared/Redwood/Council <br />02/07/00; 03/06/00 <br /> <br /> <br />
