Councilwoman LaBerge reported she met on February 28, 1987, with youth <br />service providers in the community regarding coordination of activities, with <br />the group including representatives of the Park and Recreation Department, <br />the elementary school district, youth and family service, the Police Youth <br />Club and other friends of youth. She said that a report will be forthcoming <br />with the following recommendations. <br />1) that a clearinghouse be established; <br />2) that identification be made of at risk children early; <br />3) that intergenerational programs be established; <br />4) that a needs assessment be prepared; and <br />5) that a commission on youth be established. <br />b. Councilwoman Laberge reported that she attended an Employee Relations <br />Institute conducted by the League of California Cities and the County <br />Supervisors Association of California and offered to share materials <br />distributed at the Institute with anyone interested. <br />c. Councilman Stangel reported that he met with Mayor Dianne Feinstein of San <br />Francisco and others regarding transportation needs of the area and noted <br />that a ball park is still under consideration for the 7th and Channel area of <br />San Francisco, and the Mission Bay project there will be voted on soon. <br />d. Councilman Stangel reported he attended the Council of Mayors on February 27, <br />1987, and that the item relating to proposed establishment of a Traffic <br />subcommittee was continued until the next meeting in Colma on March 27, 1987. <br />e. Councilman Bury reported he attended a meeting of the MidPeninsula Committee <br />on Fair Housing where Congressman Mineta, former Mayor of San Jose spoke.
