M /S: Chandler /LaBerge <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10565 DESIGNATING CERTAIN BUILDINGS IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AS HISTORIC LANDMARKS <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />a) Bob Rodriquez, 411 Borel #410, San Mateo, Pacific Bell, introduced the new <br />account executive assigned to the area which includes Redwood City. <br />Maryanne Sullivan, Pacific Bell, invited Council members to contact her at <br />any time she can be of assistance. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a) Councilman Bury urged that local art work be considered by the new <br />Artwork Committee which has a budget of $50,000 for civic art. <br />Library Director Light said that the Committee will consist of two <br />representatives from the Library Board and two from the Civic Cultural <br />Commission with herself as staff liaison. Mrs. Light said that the <br />committee anticipated making selections from works of local artists and <br />that criteria will soon be developed for making selections. <br />b) Councilman Greenalch, member of the Housing and Human concerns Committee, <br />reported that the homeless shelter opened on July 1, 1987, and has served <br />60 people. He said that there are presently eight families in the <br />shelter and that three families have successfully moved to permanent <br />housing and jobs. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />8.
