Item No. 8 (continued) <br />John Cooper,Traffic Committee member, said that the objections relating to <br />considerations of mutual aid and emergency response are not valid since <br />restrictions do not apply to such vehicles. Mr. Cooper reported the Traffic <br />Committee voted unanimously to restrict traffic for a 90 -day trial period <br />noting that San Carlos created some of the problem by making Eaton a one -way <br />street. <br />M /S: Britschgi /LaBerge to continue the subject item until the Council <br />members who will act as representatives of the City (Councilwoman LaBerge and <br />Vice Mayor Chandler) are able to meet with representatives from San Carlos <br />and discuss the problems and attempt to work out a solution. <br />carried unanimously by majority voice vote. <br />City Attorney Schricker stated for the record that at their request, his <br />office advised the Traffic Committee how to implement a street closure, but <br />noted that the City cannot unilaterally close a street, pointing out that the <br />law requires procedures involving notice and due process before such action <br />can be taken. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 87 -153 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />9.
