Solid Waste Collection and Disposal franchise agreement <br />- Browning Ferris Industries (continued from 9/21/87) <br />(702-02) <br />Reports: Finance Director 2/2 and 9/11/87 <br />Finance Director Ramchandani presented the subject reports with exhibits <br />relating to service and costs. <br />In response to question with regard to any future recycling program, City <br />Attorney Schricker said that it would take specific action by Council to <br />establish such a program which could be negotiated with BFI, but there is no <br />obligation to do so. <br />In further response to question, Mr. Schricker said that "refuse" could be <br />defined for householders in the information sent to them about the special <br />monthly pickup. <br />In response to Council suggestion that a staff member attend the recycling <br />program sponsored by Supervisor Griffin on Friday, October 2, it was reported <br />that Assistant to the City Manager Finigan will attend. <br />Councilman Stangel requested that the matter of the use of Apanolio Canyon at <br />Ox Mountain for solid waste disposal be referred to the Legislative Committee <br />for review and recommendation. <br />MEMO 9/29/87 <br />Title read.
