Award of contract - Establishment of medical employment <br />standards (Occu -Med) (702 -02) <br />Report: Human Resources Director 9/8/87 <br />In response to question, Personnel Analyst Fitzgerald, who handles workers <br />compensation, said that defensible standards must be established for each <br />City position and such standards are not interchangeable among cities, noting <br />that even though job titles may be the same, the duties of the job itself <br />vary for many reasons. <br />In further response to questions, Ms. Fitzgerald and City Manager Smith said <br />that there have been suits filed by disabled persons alleging they were <br />disqualified because of their disability, including challenges to the pre- <br />employment physical examination; and that whether or not new positions must <br />be evaluated depends upon comparability to present job. <br />Title read.
