Item No. 1 (continued) <br />The City Attorney advised that the next action on this Use Permit would <br />require a public hearing, and the Council requested reports and information <br />well in advance of the public hearing, as well as adequate notice to all <br />parties. <br />MEMO 11/10/87 <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />None <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a. Councilman Britschgi reported on the Transportation Committee meeting of <br />November 4, 1987 for the purpose of reviewing projects proposed for 1/2 cent <br />sales tax. There was consensus on: <br />- the widening of 101 <br />- railroad between Fremont and Redwood City deserved attention <br />- look further at Highway 84 extension from Dumbarton Bridge to Woodside <br />Road and then decking Woodside Road between E1 Camino and Bayshore <br />- great deal of discussion on railroad underpasses, grade separations <br />b. Councilman Britschgi reported on meeting he attended with the City Manager on <br />November 19, 1987 in the offices of John Steen concerning possibity of <br />building a Giants Baseball stadium in San Mateo County. First meeting of <br />group of people sponsored by the Development Association to look at sites and <br />possibilities. Financing, site selection, public attitudes were discussed, <br />concluding, to establish a task force to pursue these items. Councilman Bury <br />was selected to represent Redwood City. <br />MEMO 11/10/87 <br />c. Councilman Greenalch commented on the need to work with the County in <br />developing and preserving the beauty of the area, such as in the Emerald Lake <br />area. <br />d. Councilwoman LaBerge asked the Mayor for progress report on appointing three <br />citizens -at -large to the architectural review committee for the new City <br />Hall. Mayor reported he has been turned down by two citizens and asked <br />council for names of citizens to approach. <br />MEMO 11/10/87 <br />e.
