Item No. 6 (continued) <br />In response to question, City Manager Smith said that the ABAG insurance <br />pool expects to be in operation by the end of April, but that is not certain, <br />and in order to preserve the option of joining the JPA the City must join now <br />at the very high rate offered. Mr. Smith said the City will have the option <br />of withdrawing in July. <br />Gul Ramchandani, newly- appointed Finance Director and present Finance <br />Director of Pacifica and Controller of the JPA, described the pool and <br />anticipated premiums and coverage for the JPA itself. <br />M /S: Bury /Claire to accept the recommendaton of the City Manager and <br />authorize the City to become a member of the Joint Exercise of Powers <br />Authority for Insurance Coverage of San Mateo County Cities for the purpose <br />of securing Comprehensive General Liability Insurance; and that the premium <br />payment of $221,715 be paid from the Insurance Trust Fund. <br />Carried on the following roll call vote. <br />Ayes: Councilmen Bury, Chandler, Claire and Mosher <br />Noes: Councilmen Rhodes, Stangel and Mayor Britschgi <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -14 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />M /S: Stangel /Mosher to waive reading of the Consent Calendar to adopt all <br />resolutions and to approve all other items. <br />Carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br />7.
