Item No. 1 (continued) <br />Charles McCulloch, 374 Vassar Avenue, Berkeley, landscape architect for the <br />project, made a slide presentation of the cemetery at present and called <br />attention to sketches of the existing property and the concept master plan. <br />Mr. McCulloch estimated costs at $185,000 for Phase I and $175,000 for <br />Phase II. <br />In response to questions, Mr. McCulloch said parking space is adequate, <br />hearty plants will require little maintenance, trees will be 10 -20 feet high, <br />and that it will be necessary to discuss access with Cal Trans, since <br />Woodside Road is a state highway. <br />George Gaddy, 1704 Alameda de las Pulgas, Commander, American Legion Post <br />105, requested that a chain link fence be installed at the rear of the <br />property for security. Public Hearing - Uniform Fire Code, 1985 Edition <br />(per City Manager Report 11/27/85; Council action <br />2/24/86) (1003 -01) <br />Affidavit of Publication of Notice of Hearing of the proposed ordinance is on <br />file. <br />Mayor Britschgi declared the public hearing open at 8:03 p.m. <br />Pete Hughes, 3439 Hoover, asked whether the PCA (Peninsula Celebration <br />Association) Fourth of July fireworks display w i l l be permitted and whether <br />the procedure for inspection of Parade floats will be simplified. <br />Fire Chief O'Brien replied that the fireworks display is allowed and that the <br />Deputy Fire Chief has discussed Code provisions relating to Parade floats <br />with PCA management and has been told no problems have existed in meeting <br />Fire Code requirements. <br />Mayor Britschgi invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so.
