Item No. 6 (continued)
Jeff and Diane Kra 1006 S. Idaho, San Mateo, owners of the property, said
they purchased it last summer and intended to remove both the building
proposed to be demol i shed and the other building which is in satisfactory
condition in order to construct a multifamily unit, but have delayed because
of costs. Mr. Kray said he plans to construct the new building himself. He
said that the fence was constructed and the yard cleaned up in response to
suggestion of Mr. Mal kemus that the building be made to appear occupied,
while the Krays were waiting a few months before commencing work on the
property. Mr. K ray said that the lease of the tenant in the rear building
expires in September 1986, and then demolition of both buildings can take
place, noting that it would be less costly for the owners and more convenient
for the tenant to delay until September. He requested the matter be
continued until that time. The Krays responded to questions relating to
their plans for the property.
Cindy Julian, tenant at 88 Central , presented a photograph of the view from
her unit at the rear of the property and asked that the front building be
allowed to remain until her lease expires in September, because she believes
it provides more security to the property.
Mayor Britschgi invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. No
one wished to speak.
M /S: Chandler /Stangel to close the public hearing
Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 9:12 p.m.
M /S: Stangel /Rhodes to continue the subject public hearing until after
August 1, 1986.
Carried unanimously by voice vote.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -67
CONSENSUS: At the recommendation of City Attorney Schricker who noted that
both the property owners and their tenant are present, Mayor Britschgi
determined it to be the consensus of Council that a condition of the
continuance of the nuisance abatement hearing is that they are instructed to
maintain the property in a secure and well-kept condition and that the Chief
Building Official is directed to monitor it regularly.
MEMO 3/28/86
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Counci 1 recessed from 9:15 to 9:25 p.m.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - --
7.
