Item No. 6 (continued) <br />Mayor Claire declared the public hearing open at 12 :14 a.m. <br />Mannie Shaffer, Granite Rock Corporation, 365 Blomquist, spoke in support of <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission not to allow residential uses <br />in the Marina Redevelopment Sub -area. <br />Paul Barry, Peninsula Marina and Chairman of the Bay Area Boaters, spoke in <br />support of the Planning Commission recommendation, stating there is a need <br />for additional recreation boat space. <br />Fred Earnhardt, 1043 Silver Hill Road, operator of Docktown Marina, said that <br />he has a 25 -year lease on the Marina and supports the Planning Commission <br />r ecomm en dat i on . <br />City Manager Smith stated for the record that the expectation is that boating <br />space and activities would be increased by those living in the Marina <br />Redevelopment Area; if housing is allowed there, and noted that the area <br />remains a redevelopment sub -area whether or not residential use is allowed. <br />Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Road, spoke in support of the Planning Commission <br />recommendation. <br />Mayor Claire invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. No <br />one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Stangel /Greenalch to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 12:20 a.m. <br />M/S : Chandler/Bury to terminate proceedings to amend the General Plan as <br />proposed in the subject Resolution of Intention. <br />The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -82 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />1. Jon Pierog, 79 Finger Avenue, referred to his letter of April 17, 1986, with <br />attached correspondence and distributed a map of his area. Mr. Pierog <br />requested that the decision of the Director of Public Works be reversed with <br />regard to the repair of sidewalk and removal of trees in front of his home. <br />There being no objection, Mayor Claire referred Mr. Pierog's letter and his <br />request to the City Manager for review. (1104 -04) <br />MEMO 4/25/86 <br />2.
