Public Hearing - Proposed nuisance abatement - <br />dilapidated building, 816 Walnut Street - Charles G. <br />Boicelli (702 -11) (Public Hearing continued closed <br />from 3/4/86; Report of Chief Building Official) <br />( 702 -11) <br />In response to question, Chief Building Official LaTorra said that relocation <br />assistance was offered to the tenants by the Housing Office but they have not <br />yet taken advantage of the offer and that there is no change in the condition <br />of the property, except that an additional two months of deterioration has <br />occurred. <br />City Attorney Schricker said that evidence already submitted at the public <br />hearing on March 4, 1986, and the statement of the Chief Building Official <br />should be considered with regard to the proposed nuisance abatement. <br />Title read. (203 -10) <br />Appeal letter 5/14/86 <br />Report: Community Development Director May 1986 <br />Affidavits of Publication of Notice of Hearing and of Mailing are on file. <br />Mayor Claire declared the public hearing open at 7:45 p.m. <br />Yolanda Gomez, owner of Los Pericos, 2730 Broadway, appellant, presented her <br />letter of appeal and asked that she be granted the Use permit to allow the <br />sale of beer and wine in her restaurant in order to meet needs of customers <br />and the competition from other nearby restaurants. <br />Chris Newell, 111 Birch, stated that he is a regular patron of Los Pericos <br />and supports the appeal, stating there does not appear to be any parking <br />problem and that patronage is adult. <br />Mayor Claire invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so.
