No <br />one else wished to speak. <br />M /S: Britschgi /Stangel to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 10:55 p.m. <br />In response to question, City Attorney Schricker said that the operating <br />agreement for the shelter would include a hold harmless clause in favor of <br />the City and that with regard to land use and the Zoning Ordinance that the <br />program is a private enterprise and would have to conform to City <br />requirements. <br />In response to request, Mr. Church stated again that the operating philosophy <br />adopted by Council for the program includes senior citizens and that <br />requirement is incorporated into the agreement. <br />Title read. Councilwoman LaBerge reported she and Councilman Bury met with City Manager <br />Smith and representatives of the Downtown Association to discuss maintenance <br />of Broadway and the matter is under active consideration. <br />2. Vice Mayor Chandler reported meeting with the Executive Committee of the <br />Peninsula Water Agency, stating that the Alameda County Water District, the <br />cities of Hayward, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Santa Clara <br />and San Jose and the Purissima Water District would like to join the cities <br />of San Mateo County in the Agency in order to protect the rights of San <br />Francisco water users. He said the Executive Committee is pursuing the <br />matter which would require a modification of the joint powers agreement. <br />Reg.
