propemf into Redwood City approved without due process by the City Council and
without approval from the bordering town or consideration of the adjoining
neighbors?

5. According to the Redwood City Zoning Plan a Public Hearing is required by the
Planning Commission since this project is 1.1 acres and above the limit for the
Zoning Administrator.

46.5 Zoning Administrator Action.
The Zoning Administrator shall review, each application for a Planned Development
Per,nit for a project area of less than one (l) acre and shall approve, conditionally
approve, or deny the application as he or she finds appropriate to carry out the
objectives oflhis ordinance. (Ord. ]130, eft 7-10-64: Ord. 1130.81, eff. 3-20-68:
Ord. 1130.186, eft 12-6-78: Ord. 1130.290, eft 2-10-94)

46.6 Planning Commission Action.
The Planning Commission shall review, each application for a Planned Development
Permit.for a project area of one (1) acre or more and shall approve, conditionally
approve, or deny the application as the Planning Commission finds appropriate to
car~y out the objectives of this ordinance. (Ord. 1130, eff. 7-10-64: Ord. 1130.8I, eft
3-20-68: Ord. 1130.186, eft 12-6-78: Ord. 1130.290, eft 2-10-94)

it appears that this was supposed to be a hearing only on the slope developmem
aspect of the project and there is is a requirement for the Planning Commission to
hold a public hearing as required by the Zoning Code for the Planned development
Permit at 747 Southview Way.

6. The main structure on the proposed development would be almost 6000 square feet!!
I was told at the hearing that it met all the guidelines and was approved, at which
poim I wondered what the purpose ora public hearing he was holding was all about,
and why I had wasted my time to attend. A 6000 foot home is so far out of place in
this neighborhood that it would negatively impact everyone on the street. The average
home on Southview Way is less than 2000 square feet. The street is semi-rural and
quiet with much open space. Mr. Farahyar development is as large as most of the
homes on the street put together and would seriously impact us. In addition it is a
highly visible and is not an aesthetically appealing design. How is such a large
structure already approved without due process? Why are lot adjustments being made
and public hearings being bypassed? This plan is in clear violation of the Zoning
Code:

45.8 Architectural Standards
B. The size and design of the structure shall be considered for the purpose of
determining that the straeture is in proportion to its building site and that it
has a balance and unity among its external features so as to present a harmonious
appearance;
