Thank you for your fax and letter dated March 20, 2002, regarding the construction of a
new single family home at 747 Southview Way. In your letter you stated that
Southview Way cannot handle any more traffic that will be generated by this proposal.
You also indicated that you believe that Mr. Farahya~' made false statements regarding
the proposal at the meeting.

The Zoning Administrator reviewed the application for a Planned Development Permit
to construct the home on March 20, 2002, at 9:00 AM. Your fax was received on March

20 at 10:30 AM following the meeting. (The meeting ended at about 9:30 AM).

As indicated in the attached Notice of Official Action, the Zoning Administrator
approved the Planned Development Permit subject to conditions. The approval was
based on the findings that the house conforms to all the zoning and engineering
requirements of Redwood City.

In addition, as you may know there were previous meetings on this project. On March
5, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and approved a Mitigated Negative
Declaration for the house, recommended approval of a General Plan and Zoning
Amendment to the City Council, and recommended approval of the Planned
Development Permit to the Zoning Administrator.

Based on the Planning Commission's recommendations and findings, the Zoning
Administrator then appreoved the project.

In your letter you state that Mr. Farahyar made false statements at the meeting stating
that you signed a paper declaring that you were not interesting in widening the road.
That may or may not be the case, as I haven't reviewed the tape. However, even if you
did not sign the paper, it still would not have affected the decision of the Zoning
Administrator. Again, the project was approved because it conformed to the Redwood
City Zoning Ordinance and other previous approvals.

As noted in the Notice of Official Action, this item can be appealed to the City Council
within seven days of the decision (or until Wednesday, March 27 at 5:00 P.M.). If you
plan to do so, please submit a letter to the City Clerk's office explaining your raasons
along with a processing fee of $100.00. A copy of the Notice of Official Action was
also sent to your neighbor, Mr. Dale Koop, who also attended the Zoning
Administrator meeting.

Sincerely,

3/27/02 America Online: DEKoop Page
