Public Hearing - Planning Commission recommendation to <br />amend the Zoning Ordinance to allow public dance halls <br />in the IP (Industrial Park) District with a Conditional <br />Use Permit <br />Report: Planning Commission record transmitted 7/29/86 <br />Affidavit of Notice of Publication of Notice of Hearing is on file. <br />Community Development Director Schroeter presented the subject report. <br />Mayor Claire declared the public hearing open at 9:07 p.m. <br />Andy Anderson, 1591 Regent Street, reported that his neighborhood association <br />favored the proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Anderson <br />suggested that if businesses change ownerships, dance permits should not <br />automatically go with the change of ownership. <br />Mr. Schroeter said that a use permit would be required by anyone who planned <br />to operate a dance hall according to the proposed amendment and that use <br />permits run with the land, noting that a dance permit could not be issued, if <br />the property owner or operator did not have a use permit. <br />Police Chief Guardino said that dance permits may not be reissued to new <br />owners, and City Attorney Schricker said that dance permits are for one year <br />and are nontransferrable. <br />Mayor Claire invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. No <br />one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Chandler / Stangel to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 9:12 p.m. <br />Title read.
