No one wished <br />to speak. <br />M /S: Stangel /LaBerge to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 8:35 p.m. <br />M /S: Stangel /Chandler to continue the subject public hearing for 45 days <br />(until 9/22/86). <br />City Attorney Schricker suggested that if the public hearing is to be <br />continued, it might be desirable to continue it open so that additional <br />testimony may be taken later. <br />Mayor Claire then declared the public hearing reopened at 8:36 p.m. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote with public hearing continued open <br />until September 22, 1986. <br />MINUTE ORDER N0. 86 -142 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />4. Public Hearing- Proposed abatement of nuisance - <br />dilapidated building and unsanitary living conditions, <br />- 1911 Alameda de las Pulgas (702 -11) <br />Report: Chief Building Official and Community Development Director 7/29/86 <br />Affidavits of Mailing and of Posting of Notice are on file. <br />Chief Building Official LaTorra presented the subject report. In response to <br />questions, Mr. LaTorra said that the structure is sound, but the building was <br />so unsafe and unsanitary that it had to be stripped; that staff only learned <br />of the condition of the building on July 14; that since that date many <br />inspections by various authorities have been made; and that the owners have <br />made considerable effort in abating the nuisance. <br />Mayor Claire declared the public hearing open at 8:55 p.m. <br />Jim Hartnett, Kubota, Constantino and Hartnett, 1720 Marco Polo Drive, <br />Burlingame, attorney representing the property owners, Edward A. and Diane H. <br />Goldman, said the owners plan to sell the building "as is" through a local <br />realty company. Mr. Hartnett asked for a 60 -day continuance of the public <br />hearing, because the building might be easier to sell, if it has not been <br />condemned as a public nuisance. <br />Mayor Claire invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so.
