Item No. 1 (continued) <br />M /S: Chandler /Bury to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 8:00 p.m. <br />M /S: Chandler /Greenalch to ask Mr. Parsley to find out from the roof <br />material supplier, Patti Port of Hayward, if there is a residence in the area <br />which has a roof of the material proposed to be used by Mr. Parsley so that <br />Council members may see it in use; and to reopen the public hearing on <br />October 6, 1986, for the purpose of taking additional evidence regarding use <br />of the roofing material. <br />The motion carried on the following roll call vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmen Bury, Greenalch, LaBerge, Stangel and Vice Mayor <br />Chandler <br />Noes: Councilman Britschgi and Mayor Claire <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -176 <br />In response to question, Mr. Parsley said that he understands he is to <br />contact his supplier to obtain local addresses of any residences using the <br />roofing material he displayed and that the public hearing will be reopened on <br />October 6, 1986. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />1. Parking - in park area near Veterans Memorial Senior Center (1304 -02) <br />a. Beryl Darnell, 3907 Lakemead Way, objected to the Council action on <br />September 8, 1986, deleting use of the park area across from the Veteran <br />Building from the Red Morton Community Park Parking Lot Project. Mr. <br />Darnell requested that Council review the matter and return the area to <br />the project. <br />b. Tom Jordon, 1 Odessa Court, Chairman, Senior Affairs Commission, asked <br />that the use of the park space for a parking lot be reconsidered and <br />approved so that design and specifications for a parking lot can proceed, <br />pending the decision of the 49ers to remain or leave. He noted that if <br />the 49ers leave, the additional parking space may not be needed. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />1. Councilwoman LaBerge asked that the Police Department address the problem of <br />the posting of garage sale announcements in areas where such signs are not <br />allowed. <br />2. Vice Mayor Chandler reported on the recent meeting of the ALUC (Airport Land <br />Use Commission), stating that the SFIA addressed the Commission on the <br />subject of land use planning, noting that the RPC (San Mateo County Regional <br />Planning Commission) will be used as a sounding board for public comment.
