Councilman Britschgi called attention to the closing of GEMCO and the <br />hardship the closing will cause employees, and requested that the Mayor be <br />asked to write Congressman Lantos to request him to introduce federal <br />legislation to stop the foolishness of "takeover mania" in the United States <br />which is creating such situations as the Lucky Stores / GEMCO one. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council that he <br />write to Congressman Lantos as recommended by Councilman Britschgi. <br />MEMO 10/22/86 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />3.
